With the defending D1 State Champions, Belleville Tigers, along side a number of 2021 playoff contenders in: Howell, Novi, Canton, Fordson and Dearborn. Also adding Livonia Churchill and Franklin making runs in D2. Needless to say… The talent pool is high. With every high level team, you’ll find a high level QB under center. Heres a list of signal callers to watch out for in the KLAA this fall.
Bryce Underwood Bryce Underwood 6'3" | 205 lbs | QB Belleville | 2025 State MI – Belleville 2025
If you haven’t heard this young gun’s name… you were probably born this year. Actually scratch that, I’m pretty sure even new borns know who Bryce Underwood Bryce Underwood 6'3" | 205 lbs | QB Belleville | 2025 State MI is. In my (and many others) opinion, the best QB in the nation in the class of 2025, and after already winning a D1 State Title as just a Freshmen last year… sky is the limit for the 6’3, 205lb gun slinger. The dude is the real deal. Cannon for an arm. High IQ. Calm in the pocket. Surrounded with offensive weapons. My man might have a whole hand full of rings by the time he graduates in 2025. With offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Miami FL., Cincinnati just to name a few… Look for the Tiger’s QB to rip apart your local high school’s defense this fall.
Colin McKernan Colin McKernan 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Brighton | 2023 State MI – Brighton 2023
This man may as well be a winter jacket in a snow storm, with the way he puts ZIP on the the ball. McKernan’s quick release and timing on his throws is leaving colleges scouts drooling and High School DB’s thinking about hanging up the cleats. I’m beyond impressed with this young man. Not only is he one of the top Michigan QB recruits in the class of 2023, he is one of the most genuine, class act human beings I have been around. I would take this kid in my QB room any day. His work ethic is unmatched, he leadership is undeniable and his game is unreal. Watch out for the Bulldogs this season because when 17 is under center you better not have 6 or more in the box.
Luca Prior Luca Prior 6'2" | 170 lbs | QB Northville | 2023 MI – Northville 2023
If you’re sleeping on the Northville Mustangs this season, than consider me your alarm clock because it’s time to WAKE UP! These boys are straight dawgs on the football field and the ring leader is the BIG DAWG himself, Luca Prior Luca Prior 6'2" | 170 lbs | QB Northville | 2023 MI . If you love gritty, blood on the jersey, heart on their sleeve type ball players, than you’ll love Luca Prior Luca Prior 6'2" | 170 lbs | QB Northville | 2023 MI . One of the most competitive QB’s in the state of Michigan and the dude wins. He’s the picked first in gym class type of kid. Great footwork, great accuracy on the run, quick release. Not hard to be impressed by Prior. You need 8 yards he’ll get you 14. Very excited to watch his senior campaign this fall. You should be too.
JD Bates JD Bates 5'11" | 165 lbs | QB Livonia Franklin | 2023 MI – Livonia Franklin 2023
JD is smooth with the rock in his hand. I’m telling you now I have never seen a QB have a more silky arm swing. Bates is taking over the offense for the D2 powerhouse Livonia Franklin this season and I think is easy to say, they’re in good hands. JD has had an incredible off season, bringing home hardware from 7v7 tournaments to showcases and camps. He is sneaky quick in the pocket, always has his eyes down field and can fire a rope off platform like you wouldn’t believe. With a stacked senior class around him this fall… Keep an eye out for JD and the Patriots to make a big run.
