Shows elite ability to read, react and flow to the ball. He does an excellent job of not taking false steps and getting downhill with a purpose. In addition to his instinct, his speed allows him to flow sideline to sideline, generate tackles for losses, and be opportunistic in pass coverage. This versatility allows him to be effective at all three linebacker positions and be a chess piece for the Carroll defense. In the open field, he's fundamentally sound, doesn't get caught flat-footed, and drives through ball carriers when making tackles. The UAB signee has a great blend of burst, strength, and size to dominate through the fall and be an impact player at the next level. With his first step, he can beat guys to spot and jump gaps seamlessly. He also shows decent closing speed when running down ball carriers and finishes play frequently. But don't get it twisted. Towner is fully equipped to bully his way to the ball. With a solid bull rush, physicality at the line of scrimmage, and solid hand placement Towner can disengage or shred blockers. This combination of strength and speed makes him nearly impossible to block at this level and a matchup nightmare for offensive coordinators to deal with. With enough size to be a linebacker, Hall can provide coverage in the slot or match up with tight ends at safety. He can make plays anywhere on the field with his quick twitch, reaction time, and overall mobility. He shows tenacity in the run game and gets downhill to make plays often. Also, he reads and reacts at a high level and can produce tackles for losses frequently.
