<p>The 2022 Football season is upon us. High Schools from all around the state are now starting to practice and will take the field for their first official games in a couple of weeks. We are listing the top programs in the state and identifying the players within them. Here are the Maryland 4A Preseason State Rankings</p>

<h2>1. Quince Orchard High School</h2>

<p>2021 Season Record: 14-0</p>

<p>The defending 4A State Champions ran the table last year, finished undefeated, and show no signs of slowing down in 2022. RB [player_tooltip player_id='348555' first='Iverson' last='Howard'] returns as one of the top backs in the state, and has offensive linemen like [player_tooltip player_id='180896' first='Zachary' last='Anderson'] and Tristan Pierre returning to support one of the state's dominant offenses that averaged 40 points per game. Edge [player_tooltip player_id='249389' first='Jaylen' last='Harvey'] will lead a loaded defense that only gave up an average of a TD per game, and also has DL [player_tooltip player_id='321818' first='Christian' last='Hayes'], LB [player_tooltip player_id='390236' first='Kendall' last='Johnson'], LB [player_tooltip player_id='250308' first='King' last='Tshiama'], DB [player_tooltip player_id='249416' first='Shae' last='Terry'], DL Matthieu Long, and DB [player_tooltip player_id='249961' first='Elisha' last='West']. </p>

<h2>2. Dr. Henry Wise High School</h2>

<p>2021 Season Record: 12-1</p>

<p>Wise met Quince Orchard in the 4A State Championship, as a battle of the undefeateds, but came up unsuccessful. However, they return to 2022 loaded and have even added some new players. QB [player_tooltip player_id='246841' first='Cortney' last='Davis'] will lead an offense that has plenty of firepower with Athlete Mykel Morman, Receivers [player_tooltip player_id='249839' first='Joseph' last='Tabe'], Joseph Towler, and O-Lineman [player_tooltip player_id='249994' first='William' last='Membrino'], and averaged close to 35 points per game. The defense of LB [player_tooltip player_id='279139' first='Rico' last='Murray'], DB Mykel Morman, and DL [player_tooltip player_id='264186' first='Ronald' last='Hull'] return to a defense that gave up less than 100 points on the year. </p>

<h2>3. C. H. Flowers High School</h2>

<p>2021 Season Record: 11-2</p>

<p>Flowers finished the season 11-2 after losing there only two games to Wise last season. Once during the regular season and the final time in the 4A State Semi- Finals. They return a defense that gave up only 1 score or less in 8 out of 13 games. Defensive Lineman [player_tooltip player_id='187934' first='Desmond' last='Umeozulu'] is one of the defensive prospects in the state, and DL Obina Onwuka, DB [player_tooltip player_id='249417' first='Braydon' last='Lee'], LB Kendric Council, and DB [player_tooltip player_id='264165' first='Jalen' last='Riley'] also return to one of the state's best defensive units.</p>

<h2>4. Dundalk High School</h2>

<p>2021 Season Record: 12-1</p>

<p>Dundalk finished 12-1 and as the 3A/ 4A State Championship Runner- Ups. They return one of the most prolific rushing attacks led by Running Back [player_tooltip player_id='247247' first='Jordan' last='Fiorenza'], Offensive Linemen Chimdyh Onoh, and Julian Haddix. The Owls will definitely control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, and also have Defensive Lineman Joel Soestre leading a defense that pitched 5 shutouts last season. </p>

<h2>5. Montgomery Blair High School </h2>

<p>2021 Season Record: 9-3</p>

<p>Blair finished 9-3 and lost in the 4A State Quarterfinal to Wise. However they return one of the state's top Quarterbacks, [player_tooltip player_id='246840' first='Kendell' last='Anderson'], along with one of the top offenses in the state led by receivers [player_tooltip player_id='260204' first='Jamall' last='Worrell'] and [player_tooltip player_id='249255' first='Mikhail' last='Seiken']. Seiken is one of top 2 way players in Montgomery County and will make a dominant impact on both sides of the ball for the Blazers. </p>
