Right now, we will dive in and take a look at some of the best players around the city, and show you why. These young men have what it takes to play at the next level! They have put in the time, effort, and training to put themselves on the map. This has allowed them to improve their speed, strength, and athleticism as well! Without further due, let’s dive in and take a look at some of the best premier players around the league.
Best Blocking : Rashaad Johnson Rashaad Johnson 5'9" | 210 lbs | RB North Shore | 2023 State TX 5’9 215Ibs/RB/ Northshore High School
Analysis: Rashaad Johnson Rashaad Johnson 5'9" | 210 lbs | RB North Shore | 2023 State TX is very good back to have on your team! He averaged 9.7 yards per carry, and rushed for 560 yards last season. Johnson was also named 1st Team All-District 21-6A as well! When it comes to blocking for his teammates, he is not afraid to lay the hammer on any defender in the way! In the pass blocking game, he does an excellent job at filling in the gaps and keeping his quarterback safe. He plays with a high level of energy and physicality as well. Then, this young prospect possesses excellent strength as well which allows him to truck defenders too!
Best Hands : Jarred Sample Jarred Sample 6'0" | 170 lbs | WR Cypress Ranch | 2023 State TX 6’0 170Ibs/WR/ Cypress Ranch
Analysis: Jarred Sample Jarred Sample 6'0" | 170 lbs | WR Cypress Ranch | 2023 State TX is an excellent receiver to look out for this year! Sample has tremendous route running skills, and does a superb job at splitting defenders to get open. He has very soft hands, and is a very great possession receiver that has the ability to take it to the house every time! Next, sample makes sure to get physical with defenders so he can make contested catches which is vital for a wide receiver. He also possesses good break away speed, and very quick in and out of his cuts. Look for him to ball out for his senior season this year!
Best Power: Giacomo Valente 6’0 200Ibs/RB/ Strake Jesuit High School
Analysis: Giacomo Valente is a hard nose running back that you would want on your team! He rushed for 967 yards while averaging 13 yards per carry! Valente prides himself in playing physical when running the ball. He welcomes contact on a consistent basis as well, and does a good job maintaining his balance when taking on defenders. Valente possesses a solid frame weighing 200 pounds at 6’0 feet tall! Next, Giacomo Valente has decent speed for a back his size clocking a 4.69 40 yard dash time. When he is running through the gaps, he does a great job at leaning forward while trucking defenders in the trenches, and even stiff arms defenders making them look silly, showing his strength! Look for him to have a great season this year!
Best Vision: Santana Scott 5’6 160Ibs/RB/ Cinco Ranch High School
Analysis: Santana Scott is one player to look out for this season due to his vision. Scott does an amazing job at waiting until his blocks are set up, and consistently finds the right lane to explode through. He was named 1st Team All- District last year as well. Then, this young prospect does a superb job at planting his foot and quickly hitting cut back lanes in order to make a play out of nothing. You can also use him in the slot receiver position which allows you to spread the field. When at the receiver position, Scott has shown he has great explosion in and out of his cuts, and possesses good route running skills with decent hands! He is also a weapon on special teams because he makes sure to create and opportunity, or find the right hole to hit! Look for him for the 2022 football season.
Best Jump Ball: Rodney “Deuce” Searles 6’2 195Ibs/WR/ Clear Lake High School
Analysis: Rodney Sears is a stud on the field! With a solid frame of being 6’2ft tall, and 200 pounds solid, Sears is an extremely dangerous weapon when it comes to jump balls. He can go up and get it over just about any defender guarding him! Even though he is not the fastest receiver, he possesses solid strength, which allows him to impose his will on corner backs and safeties of any stature. With his long legs and long arms, Sears has an advantage over many teams and can easily maintain leverage on any defender! If you need a red zone touchdown, or big play, you can definitely count on Rodney” Deuce” Sears anytime!
