There are numerous towns and cities across the talent-rich state including the larger metropolitan areas of Norfolk, Richmond, Northern Virginia, Roanoke, and more. Here is the Pre-Season First Team Virginia 3A All State Defense.
McMullin is the 10th ranked Defensive Lineman in the state and led the Phantoms defense to a 3A State Championship. Currently committed to James Madison, the Phoebus senior athlete was named First Team All District, First Team All Region, and First Team All State last season.
Riddick is the 2nd ranked Defensive Lineman in the state for the Class of 2024. He won First Team All State, First Team All Region, and 2nd Team All District last year as a sophomore. The combination of he and McMullin on the defensive line is one reason the defending state champs will dominate the line of scrimmage again this season. He has offers from Bowling Green, Boston College, Virginia Tech, Duke, Old Dominion, Coastal Carolina, and Liberty.
Pennix is the 3rd ranked Defensive Linemen in the state for the Class of 2024. He was named First Team All State and First Team All Region last season and currently has an offer from Liberty University. Look for his recruiting to really pick up over the next season.
Washington is one of the best all purpose athletes in the state. The 6’7” athlete has the ability to dominate on both sides of the ball. He is a mismatch for opposing defenders as a receiver, can play in the box as a edge rusher, and also drop in coverage.
White is the 2nd ranked Linebacker in the state for the Class of 2024. He was named 2nd Team All District Linebacker, 2nd Team All Region Linebacker, tallied 61 tackles, 6 sacks, and 15 tackles for a loss. Brentsville was 11-3 last season, making it to the State Semi Finals before losing to Phoebus.

Logan Hodge
Hodge is a hybrid defender who has the versatility to play in the box and the athleticism to help the secondary in coverage. He earned All Region, 1st Team All Purpose Defense, All Metro and All State Honorable Mention last season.
Henderson, who was also named to our 3A All State Offensive Team, is one of the top overall athletes in the state. He has offers from West Virginia, Duke, Coastal Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland, Old Dominion, Virginia Tech, and Virginia.
Wilson is one of the fastest athletes in the state. He has the ability to make plays on both sides of the ball, making him an explosive weapon in the open field on offense, and a ballhawk on defense. The Norcom sophomore athlete recently ran a time of 4.45 in the 40 yard dash, and was named the Fastest Athlete at a camp this pas summer while clocking in at a speed of 21.94 Miles Per Hour.
Ratliff is one of the top Defensive Backs in the state. He does a great job of breaking on the ball, and has elite coverage skills, The junior athlete was named All Region last year as a Safety and Long Snapper.
