This is going to be a long series of new additions to our rankings to make sure that each young man is highlighted. That being said, there are P5 caliber recruits down to D3/JUCO recruits. The moral of the story, each of these young men did the work and deserved a spot in our rankings. We’re here to highlight their hard work. Without further ado, let’s take a look at Pt. 12 of our New Additions to the 23′ Rankings.
Mr. Mcgrew is a halfback that has some foot quicks to him which he uses to get in/out of the hole quickly. When he does so, it can give him the step advantage at times on the 2nd level defenders. This young man also flashes his ability to find cutback lanes if the frontside is clogged up to come away with net positive yards on the play. Let’s not forget about how he isn’t afraid to lower his shoulder to play through contact either. All in all, I like the flashes that this young man showcases in his highlights below. I’m looking forward to seeing how he produces this fall and how he fairs in the air attack. Twitter
Mr. Stone is a cornerback that isn’t afraid to secure open field tackles in the flat. What stands out the most about this young man is his ability to take good breaks on the ball to undercut routes for pass breakups and his ability to play the man over the ball on deep shots downfield. He also flashes his ability to recover quickly if the receiver gains a step on him. Overall, keep an eye on this young man this fall season as he could very well see his stock rise as a result. Mr. Brown works as a 1 tech where he has the potential to be a two-gap defender at the next level. Throughout his highlights, he’s able to hold both the center and guard in the A gap keeping his linebackers free from the run block so they can flow to the ball. In his pash rush, he does flash his ability to get through into the backfield using his power and bull rush generating pressure on the quarterback. Overall, the best ball is ahead for this young man and I’m looking forward to seeing more of his potential come to light this fall season. Twitter
Mr. Dow is an offensive center that can snap the ball and get set to block quickly. He can also work as an offensive guard and offensive tackle as well. This young man flashes his ability to block in open space during screen plays and has the potential to be a good in-line blocker at the next level. When he’s run blocking, he can fire out of his stance and latch on quickly using his strong punch at the point of attack jolting the defender upright. This is also seen when he’s a lead blocker pulling to create running lanes for his halfback too. Switching gears to pass protection, this young man flashes his ability to mirror the rushing defender at the point of attack to keep the pocket clean. Overall, I’m very excited to see where this young man lines up this fall and how he produces in that spot as last season he was moved around the O-Line. Keep a close eye on this young man as I believe you’ll see his stock rise after this fall season. Twitter
Mr. Thomas is a cornerback that seems to be in a position to make a play on the ball more times than not. This young man can jump routes to secure interceptions and can go up for 50/50 balls on contested catches forcing pass breakups. What stands out the most about this young man’s game is his ability to plant his foot and stick the receiver upon securing the catch forcing pass breakups from his heavy hit. Overall, I’m very interested to see this young man’s total body of work as his stock could very well rise as a result.
