This is going to be a long series of new additions to our rankings to make sure that each young man is highlighted. That being said, there are P5 caliber recruits down to D3/JUCO recruits. The moral of the story, each of these young men did the work and deserved a spot in our rankings. We’re here to highlight their hard work. Without further ado, let’s take a look at Pt. 11 of our New Additions to the 23′ Rankings.
Mr. Davenport is a defensive back that can come down in run support to secure the tackle on the perimeter. When you turn on the first clip in this young man’s highlights you see he has the ability to jump the route in the flat. Once he does, he can secure the interception. He can also line up as a nickel corner to cover the slot receiver. All of which, he flashes his ability to stay on the receiver’s hip pocket keeping himself in a position to make a play on the ball. Twitter
Mr. Draeger works as a 7 tech that’s quick off the line of scrimmage and uses this to beat the offensive tackle to the turn point. In the first clip of his highlights, he does so to light up the quarterback securing the sack on the play. When he’s in his pass rush, he continues working through the whistle and if he gets too far upfield he can change direction back inside generating pressure on the quarterback. In run support, he can take backside pursuit to secure the tackle downfield and flashes his ability of holding down the C gap. Overall, keep a close eye on this young man as you can very well see his stock rise after a productive fall season. Twitter
Mr. Fus works as a 7 tech where he continues working off the edge if he gets chipped off his pass rush lane. By doing so, he’s able to get to the quarterback securing the sack on the play. In run support, he can hold gap control well. This is seen when he holds either the B gap or C gap down. Once he does at the snap of the ball, he can then disengage the block to secure the tackle in the hole. Overall this young man is a high motor type of player that has his best ball ahead of him. Keep a close eye on this young man this fall. Twitter
Mr. Dutkovich is an inside linebacker that every coach needs on their radar. His ability to change direction quickly is second to none as he can fly to the ball and close quickly to blow up the ball carrier. This young man can trigger downhill quickly in run support to deliver a heavy hit on the ball carrier and can duck blocks in open space to secure tackles in the backfield along the perimeter. What stands out the most about this young man is how he can take run blocks head on jolting the run blocker upright to disengage and secure the tackle at the line of scrimmage. His ability to read plays is one to keep an eye on as well. Overall, this young man is one heck of a player that is aggressive and has an aggressive playstyle. Twitter
Mr. Aguilar can work both as a 1 tech and as a 7 tech. Both of which he flashes his ability to clog up the A gap. At times, he can slip the block to disrupt plays in the backfield to secure tackle for losses. In his pass rush, he also flashes his ability to run stunts in his pass rush and when he does he can get free shots on the quarterback. Overall, this young man has potential to become a two-gap defender.
Mr. Gonzalez is a cornerback that isn’t afraid to trigger downhill to secure open field tackles. This young man also isn’t afraid to jump routes to make a play on the ball. When doing so, he’s able to come out with pass breakups in the flat. Let’s not forget about his ability to secure chasedown tackles flashing his long speed to save touchdowns. Twitter
