Aupiu picked up four offers in May from Colorado, UNLV, NAU, and Washington. He plays fast and physical from his high safety spot working aggressively downhill to break up passes. He plays QB eyes well and jumps on crossing routes and seams over the middle. He’s smooth gaining depth with fast feet and loose hips. He can play close to the LOS and tackle in space on the edge. Aupiu possesses a high-level combination of athleticism, coverage skills, and instincts.
Walker’s a highly talented and versatile WR/DB for North Bay’s Rancho Cotate. He’s a skilled man-coverage player that can play outside CB or nickel. He has the length and speed to disrupt routes and pace receivers downfield. He flashes fluid hips, quick reactions, and is aggressive attacking the ball through receiver hands. Walker added three Pac-12 offers from Oregon St., Cal, and Washington this spring.
Coleman added his first P-5 offer from Texas Tech in April. He’s a valuable piece of the MD secondary that can play man coverage out wide or over the slot. He’s capable of playing soft or press-man and can turn-and run downfield with receivers. He’s a smart, instinctive player in coverage and an aggressive tackler that works to close space quickly. Coleman’s other offers include Grambling St., North Texas, and Georgia Southern.
Jackson’s a talented two-way player with a solid nickel/SS skillset in the secondary. He made plays in off-man over the slot with compact breaks and short-area burst. He covers ground as a tackler with great closing speed and physicality at the POA. He’s a playmaker on offense flashing hands and ball skills as a wideout. Jackson picked up his first offer from San Jose St. in January and has generated interest from several Mountain West and Pac-12 schools.
Woods picked up his first two offers this off-season from P-5 schools Arizona and BYU. He’s a skilled man-coverage CB that disrupts routes at the LOS with length and physicality. He’s an instinctive player in zone that anticipates throws in the flat playing underneath coverage. He’s a good tackler in space that can make plays in space and work downhill from a high safety position. Woods should continue to attract P-5 interest as the leader in Carlsbad’s secondary.
Highlights
Lowe is a ball-hawk in the Chaparral secondary from his FS spot. He’s a long, rangy athlete that covers ground and possesses the ball skills to create turnovers covering deep zone. He’s a willing tackler in the run game that can work downhill and tackle in the open field. Lowe picked up his first offer from BYU in May.
