Continue ReadingJune is behind us, and with it goes the main camp cycle. During that time, we see a ton of kids receive their first offers overall, or first D1 offers thanks to their performances at these camps. Whether it is off the charts testing numbers, or physical dominance in drill work, the kids in today’s article proved they were on a different level. That ability to stand out led to all seven of the athletes below to earn offers. It is awesome to see so many WI kids prove they have what it takes to play at the next level. Let’s check out how they did it!
Matthew Stenbroten Matthew Stenbroten 6'4" | 235 lbs | LB Lake Mills | 2024 State WI , ’24- Lake Mills
Matthew had a productive June. He attended several D1 hosted camps including the Badgers, Iowa State, and Illinois State. The 6’4’’ 210 lbs LB posted impressive numbers including a 4.57 40 at Iowa State, a 4.28 5-10-5 at Wisconsin, and he came away with Camp MVP on the defensive side of the ball. That Illinois State honor also came with Matthew’s first D1 offer. It was only a matter of time for one of these schools to bite early on the incoming junior. He is one of the top players in what looks like an elite recruiting class here in the WI Class of 2024. We are at the launching point of Stenbroten’s recruitment. There is no doubt he is a D1 prospect right now, and is going to be even better this fall. Congrats on a great camp season, Matthew!
Keany Parks Keany Parks 6'2" | 180 lbs | ATH Kenosha Bradford | 2023 State WI , ’23 RB/ATH- Kenosha Bradford
Keany saw his stock skyrocket this past month, and it peaked with a commitment to play FBS football. He came into June with one offer from Long Island University after dominating a Ray Lewis camp. Dominant camp performances are no new thing for Keany. He is a Prep Redzone WI Showcase veteran where he was constantly a top performer. He carried that camp success into June where he used great performances to earn offers from Northern Iowa, and Wyoming. It is clear that Keany liked what he saw on his visit and camp at Wyoming because he soon after announced his commitment to the Cowboys. Big things are coming for Keany, and you can bet I’ll be watching the playmaker do his thing.
Sam Pilof Sam Pilof 6'3" | 205 lbs | LB Middleton | 2024 State WI , 24 LB- Middleton
LB1 in the Class of 2024 has been having an elite June camps season! He earned a spot in the Overtime Best vs Best at the Badgers camp, earned an invite to an unofficial visit, which then turned into an offer for the young playmaker. From there, Sam made his way out to Penn State where he again impressed with his camp performance, and came away with another scholarship earned. Those two offers join Iowa State and Rutgers as his first four offers. The sky is the limit for the dominant, do it all, LB out of Middleton HS. I’m excited to watch Sam take over on Friday nights again very soon.
Zack Mlsna Zack Mlsna 6'6" | 300 lbs | OL Cashton | 2023 State WI , ’23 OL- Cashton
Zack has been one of the most heavily pursued recruits in the month of June. He enters July with 5 D2 offers, and an FBS PWO. That PWO comes from the home state Badgers after Zack went in and put together a great performance from start to finish. He was invited to the OT portion where they put the best vs best. The 6’5″ 280 lbs OL impressed and demonstrated his skill and potential to the point where the Badgers had to come back about 10 days later and extend the PWO to Zack. That camp performance preluded every D2 offer as well, so it is safe to say that the big man caught the attention of a ton of coaches. Congrats on a great camp season, Zack! Good luck this fall!
Dante Draghicchio Dante Draghicchio 6'4" | 290 lbs | OL Bay Port | 2023 State WI , ’23 DL- Bay Port
Dante ended June with a bang! The 6’4″ 290 lbs DL attended the Western Illinois camp on the weekend of June 25. That following Monday, Dante announced that he had earned his first D1 offer form Western Illinois. The big man clearly dominated his competition, and caught the eyes of the coaching staff. It is great to see the big man begin to earn the interest he deserves. Western Illinois joins D2 SMSU in pursuit of his talents. Despite a great camp season, Dante looks like he is still an under the radar prospect who has proven he has what it takes every time he gets the chance. Time for more schools to look into the big man!
Nathan Roy Nathan Roy 6'5" | 275 lbs | OL Mukwonago | 2024 State WI , ’24 OL- Mukwonago
The 6’5″ 270 lbs OL made the most of his opportunities in June. He attended camps in Madison, at Notre Dame, Iowa State, and the North Central Mega Camp. Following his Wisconsin and Notre Dame camps, Nathan earned his first offer from FBS member Central Michigan. Looking through the clips of those camps it is clear to see how the staff liked what they saw in the soon to be junior. Nathan is an easy mover with the heavy hands and overall strength to anchor in pass protection and bury defenders in the run game. A dominant fall is in store for the Mukwonago product. Keep an eye on the standout OL this fall.
Matthew Miller Matthew Miller 6'1" | 200 lbs | ATH Fall River | 2023 State WI , ’23 ATH- Fall River
Matthew made the rounds in June. He attended camps at Whitewater, La Crosse, along with making some other visits. The 6’ 190 lbs ATH/QB clearly impressed at his camps as he earned his 4th roster offer the the Titans of UW- Oshkosh. What I love best about Matthew is that he is open to any position at the next level. He plays QB, and LB, earned the Hardest Worker team award this past fall for Fall River, and was Honorable Mention All Conference as a QB. The athlete can fit several roles, and the next level believes it too as he holds those 4 offers from the D3 level. Don’t miss this dude. He is in for a great senior campaign starting next month!
