While these are all guys that have received their fair share of offers, they are still under the radar on the national scale despite having tons to be excited about.
Here is the scoop…
Jalen Woods Jalen Woods 6'3" | 200 lbs | QB Woodward Academy | 2023 State GA – QB – Woodward Academy
As a junior, Jalen Woods Jalen Woods 6'3" | 200 lbs | QB Woodward Academy | 2023 State GA was a breakout player who produced in a run-heavy offense last year. This year, he will have a chance to have an even bigger season. He shows tons of poise as a passer and has a very strong arm. As a result, there are numerous teams after him. One that stands out in particular? Georgetown. “Georgetown has been showing me the most love,” Woods said. “I plan on going up there once the dead period is over.” Woods also made a stop at Arkansas State recently. Outside of Georgetown and Arkansas State, schools like Kent State, Bryant, and Columbia are keeping in touch and could be close to offering. There is no shortage of suitors for Woods, and If I was a betting man, I would bet on many more programs entering the picture before he makes his commitment. Which school will ultimately land his commitment? It will be the one where he forms the best relationships with the coaches and where he can imagine himself living for the next four years.
Hayden Jackson – ATH – South Paulding
Jackson is a talented and speedy two-way player that has seen his recruitment soar recently, and I don’t think it’s finished. Offers from schools like Umass, Morehouse, Washburn, and others have rolled in in recent months. When asked which school is standing out the most, Jackson responded: “Umass!” Even though Jackson hasn’t taken an official there yet, he says he is amazed by what they are building up there and says the people up there are “really good people.” He says he is definitely thinking about taking a visit up there in the future. To go along with Umass, he has heard from other schools like Jacksonville State, Bryant, and Washburn. It seems like Umass has done a great job with Jackson, who could play on both sides of the ball collegiately, but there is a long time until signing day and more schools should enter the sweepstakes until then.
Darius Cannon Darius Cannon 5'10" | 170 lbs | WR Gainesville | 2023 State GA – WR – Gainesville
This time a year ago, Cannon started to break onto the scene. Then, he had no offers despite a productive junior season at White County. Now, he has dominated the camp scene and has seen his offer list grow to include schools like UNLV and Kentucky. The Kentucky offer was a huge one for Cannon, he had been in contact with coach Woodward for a year, and Cannon was “blessed” to receive that offer. His first SEC offer might open the door for other big-time schools to get involved. While Kentucky was a huge offer, Cannon also praised schools like UNLV, UT Martin, Tennessee Tech, and Morehouse. In regards to UNLV, Cannon said, “I’ll always be thankful for coach Krause at UNLV since he was the first division 1 school to take a chance on me.” Some other schools involved include Eastern Michigan, Georgia Southern, Army, and Navy. With a bigger opportunity at Gainesville, Cannon should see his recruitment continue to soar with a big season.
