We would like to rewind to the Rejoice Christian Football Team Camp ( Day 1 or Day 2 ) to take a look at a few standouts not previously mentioned. This list of athletes mentioned below are standouts from the camp but also to keep an eye on for this upcoming season. We will dive into this rewind with Verdigris, Claremore, and Rejoice Team camps held back at the end of May or the start of June.
Trey Bennett Trey Bennett 6'0" | 190 lbs | ATH Clinton | 2023 State OK – 2025 Athlete – Woodland
Another name has emerged out of Woodland and his name is Trey Bennett Trey Bennett 6'0" | 190 lbs | ATH Clinton | 2023 State OK . We have heard numerous times about Aidan Rhodes Aidan Rhodes 6'3" | 175 lbs | ATH Woodland | 2023 State OK and Jackson Rhodes Jackson Rhodes 6'3" | 185 lbs | LB Woodland | 2024 State OK and what they can accomplish. This time, we are going to look at the 2025 athlete that plays a little tight end, wide receiver, quarterback, and safety. He has a good arm at playing quarterback and makes good reads on where the ball needs to go. He does a good job of going up to the highest point to make the catch. He has a good catching radius and attacks the ball with soft hands. On the defensive side of the ball, he is active in the run game while playing safety. He likes to play physical in all aspects of his game. He plays well over the top helping the corner, especially with his size.
Carson Gump – 2025 DB – Cashion
Cashion had another defensive back on display at camp named Carson Gump. Earlier on day one of camp, we spoke about Seth Gilbert who was another defensive back at Cashion. For being a defensive back in the class of 2025, Gump gets off the blocks quickly and likes to play physical. He demonstrated a good backpedal and can get in and out of his breaks. I liked how he used his hands to get off blocks and how he played in the passing game. Gump plays well in the run game and sets a hard edge to allow inside players to get outside. Gump is another kid in the 2025 class to keep an eye out for these next few years.
Devin Handnot – 2023 DE/WR – Hale
Handnot is a good athletic prospect coming out of Hale in the Class of 2023. On the defensive side of the ball, he was chasing a lot of plays down from the backside. He took on numerous kick-out blocks and he played with good technique. Hale is a spill team defensively and Handnot would rip underneath to force the running back to bounce. After he took on the block, he would still make the play before the running back bounced it. On the offensive side of the ball, he plays wide receiver and does a good job of high pointing the ball over his defenders. He shows good hands and tracks the ball well. In a Missouri camp, he was clocked in at a 4.68-lasered forty, per his head coach Isaiah Irvin.
Chase Woodall – 2023 OL – Sperry
The Pirates have several playmakers on the offensive side of the ball this year that we spoke about on day one and day two of camp. One guy to look out for is an offensive lineman, Chase Woodall. He is a player that gives you everything he has on every play. He plays aggressive and physical in between the whistles. Woodall plays with good technique and wins his battle most of the time. He’s a hard worker on the field and Coach King, offensive line coach at Sperry, echoed these statements. He comes off the ball hard and has good hand placement. Woodall looks to help anchor the offensive line this year for the Pirates.
Jace Ward – 2023 OLB – Cascia Hall
One person you think of from Cascia is Cooper Lai Cooper Lai 6'1" | 180 lbs | DB Cascia Hall | 2023 State OK who is a big-time player who picked up an offer from OSU recently. Jace Ward is another player out of Cascia Hall to watch this upcoming season that plays outside linebacker. Ward comes off the ball fast and gets around the tackle quickly. Ward has good hips which help him run the hoop off the edge and has a good pass rush to get in the face of the quarterback before he can get the ball off. Ward played in the backfield majority of the time, showing he couldn’t get pushed around up front. Ward plays physically and has good technique getting separation off the block to help make plays. Ward was fun to watch as he was all over the field either chasing plays down from the backside or making plays play side.
