The 2026 receiver class hasn’t played a single minute of varsity reps, yet they look like the deepest receiver class in years. The camp brought out a lot of these budding stars who were hungry to continue sharpening their skills before starting their prep careers. Check out which players were making big times plays at the Wideouts camp.
Avry Harris – Benson – 5’11” 165 lbs – Twitter
Avry is a player that has been extremely impressive since I first saw him compete at the KC Varsity 7v7 competition. He’s continued that momentum into summer passing leagues and to this Wideouts camp. Harris is a natural pass-catcher with big, soft hands that are like cushions for the ball. He gets off quickly at the snap and is very smooth with his routes. Harris almost looks like he’s gliding through his routes. From what I’ve seen at 7v7 games, Avry does a really good job creating separation along with an extra gear that he can tap into to get behind his defender. I don’t think people are giving enough attention to his speed and his ability to stretch the field. Watch out for this one!
Araf Evans Araf Evans 6'1" | 180 lbs | ATH Bellevue West | 2026 NE Jr. – Bellevue West – 5’11” 172 lbs – Twitter
The Bellevue West receiver room continues to get deeper with incoming freshman Araf “7” Evans Jr. The times I’ve seen Araf compete this summer, I’ve walked away extremely impressed by him and his skillset. If I played you a tape of him running routes, you would never believe the fact that he is only going into the 9th grade. He is very good at creating separation from the defender and leaving them lost in space. He has hands are like vice grips that latch onto the ball once he’s caught it. Overall, Evans put together a great camp performance and assured that the Thunderbird streak of producing elite pass-catchers is still well intact.
Mikey Hunter Jr. – Lincoln North Star – Twitter
Mikey definitely did not fall back on family ties to let him coast through the camp (Mikey is Coach Williams’ nephew); if anything, he was dealt even higher expectations to deliver on. Hunter did just that by having a monster performance and being a standout in the drills and routes on air parts of the camp. He runs clean routes and does a good job making them all look the same before breaking out. Mikey also has very skilled footwork and rarely makes wasted movements. Most important, Mikey has automatic hands and was one of the players that caught nearly every pass he was thrown. Mikey comes into his freshman year already a very polished receiver that could make an impact early for the North Star offense.
Elijah Mitchell Elijah Mitchell 5'9" | 185 lbs | DB Millard South | 2026 State NE – Omaha North – Twitter
Elijah Mitchell Elijah Mitchell 5'9" | 185 lbs | DB Millard South | 2026 State NE is one of two Omaha North 2026 standouts that I’ll be talking about in these features. Eli already looks like a future star for the Vikings and only continues to get better. He does a lot of the technical parts of being a receiver very well. Mitchell is explosive coming out of his breaks, sinks his chest to his knee when prepping to change direction, and he sells vertical on his routes. What I really liked about Elijah was that he held on to tough catches, granted there was no contact at this camp, but he still made some great catches away from his body and on balls that were a bit away from him. Elijah and the 2026 Vikings are going to be a scary good bunch.
Eli Johnson Eli Johnson 6'3" | 210 lbs | TE Omaha Westside | 2026 State NE – Omaha Westside – 6’2″ 185 – Twitter
Eli is going to be a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses. Eli is only going into his freshman year but already possesses great size and length for someone his age. At 6’2″ and 185 lbs, Eli has a big catch radius and does a good job adjusting when high-pointing the ball. I liked that he goes up and attacks the ball when it’s coming his way and secures it with his big hands. Johnson is a really good athlete that plays with a lot of explosiveness. I’m excited to see what he can do in pads when he can go full-speed and use his size to mow over smaller defenders.
