The prospects listed below are all set to have monster years for their respective ball clubs this Fall. They all play with intensity and have that it factor that makes their tape jump off of the screen. I had the pleasure of evaluating these guys and I was impressed. These student-athletes all have begin to receive recognition and notoriety. After this season. The price is going to go up on the tickets’ of each of these guys. Check out my 2023 & 2024 Prospects who I feel are next up!
Zech Pratt Zech Pratt 6'1" | 165 lbs | DB Tupelo | 2023 State MS | 2023 DB | Tupelo HS
Chris Pratt of Tupelo is a kid loaded with athleticism and potential. He is a member of Tupelo’s stacked defense that is loaded with future collegiate athletes. Mr.Pratt is one of them. He is a sub 4.5 40 guy that has many of the key attributes programs look for in regards to the safety position. Chris is an exceptional student-athlete who approaches a game with a fast and physical nature. The multifaceted prospect has a background in track and field. Pratt’s agility and fluidity within his movement positively correlates his track influence directly onto the field.. He carries this mindset with him when making plays in the defensive secondary and in the box on run support. When in pass coverage, Chris covers like a glove. The 2023 prospects displayed great reactionary instincts and respectable ball skills. He has the presence of mind that a lot of Defensive Backs lack, being able to play the ball in the air. Whether he is covering in phase or driving on the receivers from his safety position, Pratt’s ball skills and instincts allow him to play the ball through the Wide Receiver’s hands for Pass Break Ups and PD’s. He also looks polished tackling and moving around near the line of scrimmage in order to stifle ball carriers. Pratt’s physicality would make him a great nickel-back on the next level. Zech “Chris” Pratt will surely be a reliable force in the back end of the Golden Waves’ defense this fall. This kid has received offers from Faulkner University and several Junior Colleges. Be on the lookout for him as he enters his money year this year.
Christopher Jones Christopher Jones 6'1" | 215 lbs | LB Hartfield Academy | 2024 State MS | 2024 OLB | Hartfield Aca.
Christopher Jones Christopher Jones 6'1" | 215 lbs | LB Hartfield Academy | 2024 State MS of Hartfield Academy is a 2024 OLB prospect with great upside and technical brilliance. He has a physical nature to his game and his body will fill out to match that. Jones is a tremendous physical specimen who plays with strength, passion, and a motor that is apparent to see from his tape. He’s a Natural Defender that enjoys the hunt of closing in to make plays on any ball carrier he comes across. The 6’0 210 lb student-athlete is a smart kid with a quick processor. Boasting an impressive 3.7 GPA, his prowess in the classroom shows on the field. He instantaneously processes plays while being able to efficiently move into position to make plays. Chris’ innate ability to make tackles is impressive. He meets oncoming players with strong hands and sheds them to make plays consistently. Jones has the athleticism to hold his own in coverage, and the strength and fortitude to play in the box. He has snaps at ILB & OLB, lining up coming off of the edge and in coverage as well. He was also a threat off the edge, proving to be a mismatch for Tackles physically in terms of his speed. His mind and his motor are what sets him apart as a prospective linebacker. I’m looking forward to seeing him have a breakout season this year.
Zyrian Jackson | 2023 ATH | Hazlehurst
Mr.Jackson is lightning in a bottle. This kid out of Hazlehurst is the self proclaimed Mr.Walk Down. After doing my research and watching his film he is surely justifiable in doing so! Jackson is an explosive young talent that that plays QB, WR, and has also seen snaps at RB. As Quarterback for the Indian’s Offense, the majority of his success has come as a runner of the football. There is arm talent there though; he can throw the ball well enough to be a passing threat and keep teams honest. Carrying the rock, Zyrian only needs a slither of space to break through the defense and accelerate to top speed. Speed that allows him to seamlessly get into the defensive secondary to score points in a hurry. Zyrian also lines up as a WR for the Indians offensively, where he shows flashes of being a dependable threat in the passing game. His route running could use some fine tuning, but that is largely a result of Jackson’s natural ability. He has enough wiggle and spatial awareness to create separation with routes that are simple and concise. On defense, Zyrian assumes the role of Cornerback. He plays the field and boundary, but is seen primarily to the field side of the ball. He covers well and never seems to be out of phase, no matter where the ball is thrown or how much real estate he allows the WR to collect. In my opinion, this is likely the position that Jackson will claim once he’s on the collegiate level. His athleticism, grit, and skill-set together make him a notable prospective recruit as far as Coverage Corners go. Zyrian may gain notoriety for his offensive presence and abilities, but I predict him as another reoccurring success story of a WR turned DB, who never looked back!
