These prospects really turned it up a notch as we unload into day 3, as all of them showed that upside for their 2022 seasons coming up here very soon and a few I have watched make great strides as far their skillsets even from watching them at a prospect camp just a few weeks ago. Find out who they are!
Dylan Young Dylan Young 6'0" | 190 lbs | OL Little Falls | 2023 MN , LB, Little Falls (2023)
Dylan was a linebacker prospect I have gotten to watch consecutive weeks up at the Minnesota-Duluth prospect camp and the Central Minnesota Defensive Camp, where he showed out as one of the top linebackers in the group I got to watch. What stood out about Dylan? I thought he had improved footwork from the coaching he received at Duluth and the CMFA defensive camp and showed a quick release shedding off contact. What stood out to me was the intensity of his speed, as he showed some reactive instincts and a significant motor with his change of direction to run downhill to the football. Dylan’s ability on tape to maintain his balance in a position landscape off the edge has some rawness, but watching his footwork develop at the last two camps shows me that this young man has put some work in this offseason. Dylan is a smash-mouth prospect on his contact levels on both ends of the ball as his physicality is quite intense for his size, especially with some reps on the Flyer’s offensive line. Look for this under-the-radar linebacker to get some attention into his senior season at Little Falls. Tape: http://www.hudl.com/v/2HKNYA
Walker Loesh, DL, Sauk Rapids-Rice (2024)
When it came to his first step off the snap in 1v1 reps, Walker opened up many eyes, including mine, not just how quickly he got off with his explosion but the strength this young man had in his hands to fight thru contact. Walker is another kid I watched at Duluth, and the development and acceptance of coaching at both camps have turned the corner for his skillsets to come through with a much more natural athletic ability. Walker works his finesse a ton in small traffic areas too. It is easy to read into that Walker has just another gear he can turn on in 1v1 reps, and I would be willing to say on Friday nights too.- The upside this young man has will be a local Central Minnesota defensive end prospect I will be eager to watch this fall, as he is just scratching the surface as far as his upside goes going into his junior year. His older brother was my Camp MVP at the Central Minnesota Football Academy Defensive Camp last year, so he has a high ceiling of pedigree to grow on to from his older brother Carter who is a Minnesota-Duluth signee this year. No tape yet.
Adam Langer Adam Langer 6'2" | 210 lbs | ATH Rocori | 2023 State MN , DB/WR, Rocori (2023)
We will snap back a few weeks to look at Adam Langer Adam Langer 6'2" | 210 lbs | ATH Rocori | 2023 State MN of Rocori for his in-person evaluation. During the 7v7 outing I caught in Sauk Rapids a few weeks back, Adam showed some excellent hands and made some impressive catches, especially on his intermediate and deeper routes. We move forward to last week watching Adam in the secondary, as those hands once again showed plenty of upside in my eyes, as he was magnetic with the strength he showed with his sizeable hands working thru the Indy drills I got to watch in Cold Spring. Adam also showed off the compelling range with his reaching ability and was able to get his hands on plenty of balls that might be out of reach for other defensive backs. Out of all the prospects on this short list, Adam might be the most intriguing WR/DB prospect that I will be chomping at the bit to get some game tape on this fall, as his frame and athleticism really struck a chord with me at Rocori last week and at 7v7 in Sauk Rapids. No Tape yet.
Grady Minnerath, LB, Rocori (2024)
Grady was another linebacker from this group that showed a sizeable wiggle getting thru contact and substantial athleticism with his footwork to blast into the inside zone of the football field. He was an All-District performer last season for the Spartans, and showed a significant charge coming out of his stance along with an energetic bend when you get to watch glimpses of his tape from the 2021 season. Grady shows the clinging ability too in pass coverage, as he glue-like instincts seal the window of the ball with groundable force. When he’s just off his mark with his steps in the backfield, Grady shows reactive intitation maneuver his body to make plenty of tackles with good contact. Just an incoming junior with a lot of upside to show off on tape with two more years of high shcool football under his belt. Tape: http://www.hudl.com/v/2Gk0Tj
