Saturday morning we took a trip to Glenpool to watch offensive and defensive linemen compete. Christian Littlehead, who ran the camp, ran his 1st annual OL/DL camp. This camp featured 53 athletes who ranged from Oklahoma and Texas. In the camp setting, we watched a lot of individual drills and competitions ranging from the inside run, double teams, and 1 on 1’s. We saw a lot of great talent on both sides of the ball and we will take an in-depth look at several players.
Garrett Keith – 2023 OL – Plainview
Keith was one of the first linemen I spotted out at camp today just by sheer size alone. He is in the class of 2023 and played mostly left tackle out in Glenpool Saturday. In the run game, he has a good first step coming out of his stance and does well at attacking his defender. He has good ankle flexibility and plays with all his cleats in the ground every play in the run game. Keith has long arms which help not allow defenders into his body and he can keep his separation. In his pass sets, he was the best lineman who went up against the best and dominated the edge rushers. Keith showed a good kick step versus the edge rushers which put him in a good position to take that away. The majority of the time, the edge rushers liked attacking outside and countering with an inside move, which Keith was ready for.
Delmekko Ratliff – 2023 OL – Glenpool
When you talk about someone who loves to play physical, Ratliff loves it! Coming out of Glenpool in the class of 2023, Ratliff loved dominating opponents with physical play. It didn’t matter if it was in the run game or pass pro, he looked good. He took short steps driving his opponent out in the run game and punched with heavy hands. Ratliff is a strong athlete with a good base, which helps with his technique, not lunging at his opponents. He showed off some good footwork skills in both run/pass games and has good ankle movement. Ratliff is someone that I hadn’t seen before but is someone I will keep my eye on as we move forward to the season.
Samuel Reynolds – 2025 OL – Lovejoy, TX.
Coming out of the class of 2025, Reynolds was productive in all facets of the camp. Reynolds looked good in the run game as he comes out of his stance and uses his hands well. He looked good with the double team blocking as he kept his hip inside with his double. He showed good technique with hand placement and using his hands to help get him in position to make the block. Where I enjoyed watching him was playing guard in pass pro where he had several quality reps. Reynolds gets his hands on the defender quickly and doesn’t overstep or lunge to get out of position. Some defenders tried to bull rush him but didn’t have any success at doing it.
Nate Spaulding – 2024 DE – Washington
This 2024 defensive end is someone to keep an eye out for in the near future. Spaulding has a great frame and could easily add more weight without slowing him down. We have heard about Hayden Milner Hayden Milner 6'4" | 255 lbs | DL Washington | 2023 State OK from Washington numerous times throughout the summer and it was good to see his counterpart on the defensive line in action. With Spaulding being from the same school, this duo could have a huge year being on opposite sides of one another. His first step is quick getting off the ball. Spaulding was the only defender that beat Keith one time in his first rep. Spaulding plays with good technique and uses his hands well to fight off the double team blocks. Spaulding looked good in both the run game and pass pro session at Glenpool Saturday.
Jacob Smith – 2025 DE – Edmond Santa Fe
When I watched Smith go through individual drills he looked quick getting off the ball. I asked about him to a coach that he has been around and I was told to wait until they get to pass pro. A bit undersized, Smith competed on both sides of defensive end. This kid had a high motor that moved all the time and was all over the place. For being just an incoming 10th grader, Smith has some tools that you like to see while out playing some defensive end. He shows he has quick hands and uses good technique to help him get to the edge. In one of his reps in pass pro, Smith attacked the edge and countered with a nice spin move.
Hayden Milner Hayden Milner 6'4" | 255 lbs | DL Washington | 2023 State OK – 2023 DE – Washington
As mentioned above, Milner has received some attention this summer out at camps and has made a name for himself playing defensive end. Milner gets off the ball quickly and uses his hands well. He does a good job at attacking the tackle’s shoulder and squeezing the play. In the double team session, he fought and went up against good competition and held his own. He attacked his man and used good technique versus the double team. He also showed good hand placement and technique in the run game. In the 1 on 1’s, he only went up against Keith, mentioned above, and is quick at getting off the ball while attacking the edge. Milner shows why he is ranked with Prep Redzone and I look for him to have a great senior season.
