Luke Duncan Luke Duncan 6'6" | 195 lbs | QB Miramonte | 2023 State CA – QB, Miramonte
The UCLA commit has been a consistent PRZ rankings riser and picked up six D-I offers since March. He’s a natural passer with high-level physical tools and arm talent at 6’6”/195. He throws with accuracy at all three levels and possesses the arm strength to push the ball downfield with ease. He moves well in the pocket with great footwork and platform. Duncan’s been one of California’s biggest stock-rising QBs this offseason and is PRZ’s #5 senior QB heading into this season.
Aidan Chiles Aidan Chiles 6'4" | 195 lbs | QB Downey | 2023 State CA – QB, Downey
Chiles committed to Oregon St. after a huge offseason that saw him pick up eight offers in the spring. The athletically-gifted QB is one of the top dual-threats in the state with D-I playmaking ability in his arm and legs. He can sit in the pocket and distribute with accuracy or tuck-and-run flashing speed and elusiveness in space. Downey’s October matchup with Warren will feature two top-ten QBs in the state in Chiles and Nico Iamaleava Nico Iamaleava 6'5" | 200 lbs | QB Warren | 2023 State CA .
Jax Leatherwood Jax Leatherwood 6'6" | 225 lbs | QB Scripps Ranch | 2023 State CA – QB, Scripps Ranch
Leatherwood led Scripps Ranch to its first state championship in school history as a junior while throwing for nearly 4,000 yards, 52 TDs, and only 2 INTs. He’s a high-upside QB with great physical tools at 6’6”/225. He navigates the pocket well with active feet and possesses the arm strength and athleticism to throw off-platform with accuracy. He’s effective finding soft spots in zone coverage and can fit it into tight windows over the middle. Leatherwood, a Nevada commit, will look to lead Scripps Ranch to another state championship this season.
Ryan Staub Ryan Staub 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB West Ranch | 2023 State CA – QB, West Ranch
Staub committed to Colorado after picking up his second D-I offer in late January. He’s a natural athlete that’s comfortable distributing from the pocket and can be a threat to pull on read-option. He can layer his intermediate-deep throws and fits the ball in tight spots towards the sideline. He’s smooth with his fundamentals and mechanics and can deliver under pressure with a quick, on-time release. Staub will look to build off his strong junior season before heading to Boulder in 2023.
