Here are the five prospects that stood out the most and impressed not just myself but the Golden Eagles coaching staff as well.
1. (DB) Andraeus Jones Andraeus Jones 6'2" | 160 lbs | DB McGavock | 2023 TN – McGavock
– Out of all the prospects in attendance at Green Hill High School, Jones to me was the top standout of everybody and someone that really took his stock to another level. The Raiders senior defensive back flashed everywhere on the field from dominating his drill work to smothering every receiver he went up against during the 1 on 1 competition. Jones moves very well as well as being quite flexible. He is also tall and long at 6’2 165 pounds and he competes like he is much bigger. This Middle Tennessee talent holds an offer from Eastern Ky but more performances like Monday night’s will lead to many others and increase his recruiting stock in a major way.

2. (WR)
Kaleb Carver

– If you’re looking for a consistent playmaker that can fly, Carver is your man! This guy put together yet another strong showing during Tech’s camp on Monday night, displaying his speed in a variety of ways and coming up with some tough catches during 1 on 1 action. The Hawks senior wideout is extremely quick off the line of scrimmage then uses his speed to blaze past his defender on a consistent basis. Carver is a true playmaker that can play multiple roles on offense while also being a great return man on special teams. He already holds multiple FCS offers but expect many others to come his way very soon.
3. (WR) Sean Aldridge Sean Aldridge 5'10" | 175 lbs | WR Green Hill | 2023 State TN – Green Hill
– The Hawks have one of the best duos at receiver in this state with Carver and this guy, who put together a very strong performance in front of the Golden Eagles coaching staff and took one step closer towards earning his first offer. Aldridge is a polished wideout that showed off his route running skills on Monday as well as his ability to separate from the defender. The biggest thing that stood out about Aldridge at camp was his increased speed. You can tell this Middle Tennessee receiver has worked hard at developing his speed and making himself more explosive. His performance Monday night proved that Aldridge deserves more looks from college coaches as this guy is legit and worthy of offers.

4. (WR)
Trey Joyner

East Nashville | 2023
State

– East Nashville
– Yet another receiver in Joyner was one of the top performers at the Tennessee Tech Prospect Camp on Monday night where the Eagles wideout was hard to cover due to his size, length and ability to separate from the defender. Joyner has nice size at 6’3 180 pounds along with a frame that can take on added size. He knows how to use his body to create space then use it to shield off the defender while hauling in the pass. Joyner is a multi talented receiver that brings a lot of college traits to the football field and he used those traits to impress many in attendance, especially the Golden Eagles coaching staff.
5. (OT/G) Dayton Jernigan Dayton Jernigan 6'5" | 275 lbs | OL Warren Co. | 2023 State TN – Warren Co.
– The line of scrimmage was lite on Monday night but the one guy who stood out the most and put together a strong camp was Jernigan. He performed at a high level throughout the entire camp, all the way from his drill work into 1 on 1 competition. The Pioneers stud O-lineman moves well and shows explosive traits, especially coming off a season ending injury last year. Jernigan (6’5 275) has pass blocking abilities along with the versatility to slide inside at guard, so he brings a lot of value up front along with room to develop even further as he continues to grow and mature. His recruitment will be interesting to follow as I think he can work himself into becoming a bonafide FCS prospect.
Just Missed The Cut: (RB) Jalen Pero Jalen Pero 5'7" | 175 lbs | RB Portland | 2023 TN – Portland, (LB) Hayden Smith Hayden Smith 6'1" | 215 lbs | LB Westview | 2023 State TN – Westview, (RB) Tyson Wolcott – FCS, (RB) Cory Sims Cory Sims 5'10" | 205 lbs | RB Siegel | 2023 TN – Siegel, (QB) Cade Mahoney Cade Mahoney 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Green Hill | 2023 TN – Green Hill
