We are going to take a look at the prospects picking up scholarship offers. However, we are also going to examine several prospects that are impressing in college camps and have the potential to do big things this season. It has been a busy week from a recruiting perspective, and we will have further news this coming week from the Arkansas camp taking place today.
Ben Ridings Ben Ridings 5'9" | 185 lbs | DB Little Rock Christian | 2023 State AR -Defensive Back-Little Rock Christian-2023
Ben Ridings Ben Ridings 5'9" | 185 lbs | DB Little Rock Christian | 2023 State AR has earned all-conference honors two years in a row. The young man is always around the football, and he can play linebacker or any position in the secondary. Ridings has no problem bringing down the ball carrier. He is a prospect that earned a scholarship offer this week from Hendrix College. Ridings plays with a chip on his shoulder, and this has the potential to be a strong season for Ridings.
Allen Thomason Allen Thomason 6'5" | 255 lbs | OL Pulaski Academy | 2023 State AR -Offensive Line-Pulaski Academy-2023
Pulaski Academy offensive lineman Allen Thomason Allen Thomason 6'5" | 255 lbs | OL Pulaski Academy | 2023 State AR has had a busy week from a recruiting perspective. Thomason displays quick feet and gets into the opposing defensive linemen quickly. He pass blocks as well as getting out to block on screens. Thomason loves to finish his blocks and he does not mind driving an opponent to the ground. Thomason has the potential to play on Saturdays in the future. He earned scholarship offers from both Harvard and Yale this week and he has the potential for an impressive 2022 football season.
TJ Lindsey TJ Lindsey 6'5" | 260 lbs | DL Bryant | 2024 FL -Defensive Line-Bryant-2024
It should come as no surprise that the Bryant Hornets have produced another talented defensive lineman. Lindsey explodes out of his stance and does a terrific job of defeating blocks and getting into the offensive backfield. The Bryant defensive lineman has incredible versatility. He can play along the defensive front and do so effectively at every position. Lindsey picked up scholarship offers this week from Georgia, Arkansas, Texas Tech, and Houston over the course of this week. Lindsey is blowing up from a recruiting perspective and has the potential to have a huge season this season.
Charleston Collins Charleston Collins 6'4" | 240 lbs | DL Little Rock Mills | 2024 State AR -Defensive Line-Little Rock Mills-2024
The central part of the state is producing plenty of prospects with division one capabilities. Collins is a defensive lineman that can shut down the opponent’s rushing attack as well as terrorize the opposing quarterback. He is another prospect that had a busy week in the recruiting department this week. Collins earned scholarship offers from Alabama, Georgia, and Michigan State this week. Collins has the potential to have a strong season and cause plenty of offensive coordinator’s headaches throughout the season in the process.
Romelo Bell Romelo Bell 6'4" | 230 lbs | DL Pulaski Academy | 2023 State AR -Defensive Line-Pulaski Academy-2023
Earlier in the spring, Romelo Bell Romelo Bell 6'4" | 230 lbs | DL Pulaski Academy | 2023 State AR picked up a scholarship offer from West Point, and he has shown since then that he is going to earn plenty of more scholarship offers. The Pulaski Academy edge rusher has a good mix of power and speed. Bell does a great job of fending off blocks and getting into the backfield. The quickness that Bell has jumps off of the film and he has the potential for a strong 2022 season. Bell earned a scholarship offer from Sam Houston State this week and he will continue to open some eyes as the offseason continues.
DeAndra Burns DeAndra Burns 5'11" | 150 lbs | WR El Dorado | 2023 State AR Jr.-Wide Receiver-El Dorado-2023
DeAndra Burns DeAndra Burns 5'11" | 150 lbs | WR El Dorado | 2023 State AR Jr. is a prospect that had a terrific 2021 football season, and the work ethic has not decreased a bit this offseason. He can play the slot or the outside receiver position and do so with equal effectiveness. Burns Jr. has tremendous speed, however what does not get enough credit is just how good his hands are. The El Dorado wide receiver picked up a scholarship offer this week from Southern Arkansas. El Dorado is going to be defending a state championship this season and I expect a big year from El Dorado as well as Burns Jr.
