Recruiting News 5-28 to 6-4

Much like the temperatures this time of year, recruiting news is beginning to heat up and we have plenty of going into the weekend. The 2023, 2024, and 2025 classes have started to blow up from a recruiting perspective and this has the potential to be a busy summer for many prospects. We are going to take a look at the recruiting news making the headlines this week. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="153886" first="Charleston" last="Collins"]-Defensive Line-Little Rock Mills-2024</strong> One of the most impressive prospects in the state of Arkansas is [player_tooltip player_id="153886" first="Charleston" last="Collins"]. It has been a busy weekend for the Little Rock Mills defensive lineman this week. Over the course of the week, Collins picked up scholarship offers from LSU, Southern University, Louisiana-Monroe, and Louisiana Tech. However, Collins is not finished earning the scholarship offers. I expect him to have an impressive season, simply because he has built plenty of momentum this offseason. 2022 should be a monster season for the Little Rock Mills defensive lineman. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="143160" first="Jorden" last="Fields"]-Offensive Line-Pine Bluff-2023</strong> [player_tooltip player_id="143160" first="Jorden" last="Fields"] is one of the sleepers in the class of 2023 and he is starting to build some serious momentum in the process. Fields had a strong showing at the Ouachita Baptist camp earlier in the week. A few days later, Fields was offered a scholarship from Ouachita Baptist. Fields uses his strength well and he does a great job of being able to finish his blocks. The versatility Fields has is going to be valuable to the school that lands the Pine Bluff offensive lineman. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="75142" first="Cooper" last="Darr"]-Defensive Line-Shiloh Christian-2023</strong> On the defensive side of the ball, [player_tooltip player_id="75142" first="Cooper" last="Darr"] is a prospect that does a good job of mixing his speed rush with his power rush. He is an edge rusher that can play all along the defensive line and flashes impressive versatility. [player_tooltip player_id="75142" first="Cooper" last="Darr"] was impressive at the Ouachita Baptist camp and in the process earned a scholarship offer from the Tigers. Darr is a prospect that I expect to have a big season for the Saints. Shiloh Christian has a talented team returning for the 2022 season and I expect a deep playoff run. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="193069" first="Donnie" last="Cheers"]-Wide Receiver-Marion-2023</strong> [player_tooltip player_id="193069" first="Donnie" last="Cheers"] has had a busy offseason. The Marion wide receiver performed well at the Memphis camp earlier in the week. However, that was not the end of the good news for Cheers. Cheers earned a scholarship offer from Alcorn State University this week as well. The week is not over for Cheers. The Marion Patriot will be attending the Dallas camp that TCU and SMU will be hosting this weekend. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="112596" first="Matt" last="Colvin"]-Offensive Line-Clarksville-2023</strong> Colvin has been an offensive lineman that I have been watching for a while. Colvin plays with a chip on his shoulder and can overpower opposing defensive linemen. He finishes his blocks and is always looking for another player to block. Colvin earned a scholarship offer from Ouachita Baptist earlier in the week. He is a prospect that has the potential for a strong season, and I expect to rack up some more offers over the next few weeks.
