Players are getting an idea of what is working for them as far as their training and diets are concerned. At the same time, new and veteran coaches are figuring out what may or may not be working for them. Whether it is the drills they do, or the scrimmage games played coaches and players are fine tuning their games on the regular. In this series I will be covering as many schools as I can, from as many different classes as I can. ln this article we will take a look at the Har-Ber Wildcats.
Luke Buchanan Luke Buchanan 6'1" | 195 lbs | QB Har-Ber | 2023 State AR #8
Quarterback
c/o 2023
Luke Buchanan Luke Buchanan 6'1" | 195 lbs | QB Har-Ber | 2023 State AR is looking to build off a very successful 2021 season. A season of which saw Buchanan throw for 5 touchdown passes in one half of a game. Luke ended the 2021 season with 2,857 passing yards, 805 rushing yards, and a total of 31 touchdowns. Finding himself top of the class in total yards in 7A football. At 6’1″ 190lbs, Luke runs a 4.6 40-yard dash and has a 36″ vertical. He comes ready to play and is most certainly a threat in both the passing and rushing game. Luke and the Wildcat offense look to do some damage come fall time.
Grayson Spurlock #11
WR
c/o 2024
Grayson Spurlock is a major weapon on this Wildcat offense. His size alone is a lot to account for, not to mention his hands. Grayson is a 6’3″ 191lb wide receiver who runs a 4.5 40-yard dash. Spurlock is not afraid to go up for the contested catch, actually it almost seems like that is his favorite way to get the ball. But do not sleep on this young man’s speed. Grayson will burn a defender before the defender knows that they got burned. Spurlock looks to be “WR1” come the fall. This Wildcat offense is excited to have this young man catching passes for them.
Keyante Carter #90
DE/DL
c/o 2024
Keyante Carter is a 6’3″ 191lb wrecking machine. He is solid in the run game, but very effective in the pass rush. Hurrying quarterbacks, disrupting plays, as well as getting the occasional sack. Keyante is the type of player, that other players around him tend to have success. Carter has the potential to make a real impact in the 2022 season. This Wildcat defense looks to wreak havoc come this fall.
Tate Beam #52
Linebacker
c/o 2025
Tate Beam is a player to be on the lookout for this upcoming season. Beam has all the tools, as well as potential to be a real weapon for the Wildcats. At 6’1″ 172lbs, Tate runs a 4.8 40-yard dash and has a 33″ vertical. Beam displays solid awareness, quick reads on defense, and covers a lot of ground as a linebacker. The Wildcat defense is going to be one that offenses will not take lightly and having a player like Beam to be able to let loose is most certainly nice to have. Look out for this Wildcat defense in 2022.
