Continue ReadingWe are right in the middle of spring football camps and programs are getting an early idea of what it is their team may look like come the fall. Players are getting an idea of what is working for them as far as their training and diets are concerned. At the same time, new and veteran coaches are figuring out what may or may not be working for them. Whether it is the drills they do, or the scrimmage games played coaches and players are fine tuning their games on the regular. In this series I will be covering as many schools as I can, from as many different classes as I can. ln this article we will take a look at the class 7A Conway Wampus Cats.
Cris O’Neal #5
WR
c/o 2024
Cris O’Neal is one part of a dynamic duo at wide receiver for the Wampus Cats. At 5’10″ 145lbs, O’Neal’s first ever touchdown on varsity came in the form of a kick return. Cris just has that flat-out unteachable speed. He has great hands, runs smooth routes, and can turn on the jets at any moment. O’Neal has looked great in spring football so far, showing why it is that he is so dangerous. Cris and the rest of this Conway offense look to make some noise this 2022 season.
Jackson Anderson Jackson Anderson 6'3" | 165 lbs | WR Conway | 2024 State AR #16
WR/DB
c/o 2024
Jackson Anderson Jackson Anderson 6'3" | 165 lbs | WR Conway | 2024 State AR , another part of the dynamic duo at receiver for Conway, is ready to build off of his success last season. Anderson is a 6’3″ 165lb wide receiver who is a big target in the redzone. He runs a 4.5 40-yard dash and has a 36″ vertical, making him dangerous in every way on the outside or in the slot. Jackson has great hands, he runs great routes, and he is deceptively fast. Anderson has the tools to take his game to the next level, and this Conway offense is happy to have a weapon like him.
Preston Prock Preston Prock 6'4" | 230 lbs | LB Conway | 2023 State AR #59
OLB/MLB
c/o 2023
Preston Prock Preston Prock 6'4" | 230 lbs | LB Conway | 2023 State AR can be a game wrecker to opposing teams. At 6’3″ 230lbs, Prock is a relentless linebacker who displays great tackling skills. Whether lined up on the inside or outside his motor never quits. Prock is dangerous in the pass rush, hurrying quarterbacks as well as using his hands very well to get to the quarterback. Preston can cover a lot of ground, going sideline to sideline with ease. He and this Conway defense look to lockdown opponents in the 2022 season.
Hudson Wallace Hudson Wallace 6'0" | 175 lbs | DB Conway | 2023 State AR #29
FS
c/o 2023
Hudson Wallace Hudson Wallace 6'0" | 175 lbs | DB Conway | 2023 State AR is a lot of fun to watch on film. Wallace can cover a lot of ground as a safety, which is very important at that position. He is a legitimate threat to any opposing offense because of his ability to defend the run, as well as his ability to defend the pass. No throw is safe if Wallace is near, he is a ball hawk that is very fast. Hudson and the Wampus Cat defense look to build off of last year and turn some heads in the 2022 season.
