The camp season is heating up as quick as the temperatures have here in Arkansas. The Arkansas Razorbacks are not the college that hosted Arkansas prospects over the weekend. We are going to look at several prospects that put in good showings at other universities over the weekend. We have quite a few names on the list that are going to be familiar for the folks that are paying attention.
[player_tooltip player_id="152083" first="Chris" last="Gannaway"]-Running Back-Bryant-2023
The Bryant running back has done an excellent job of showcasing impressive speed. However, he is a patient runner and does a good job of allowing a rushing lane to develop before picking his rushing lane. The Bryant Hornet is a dangerous receiver out of the backfield and will cause headaches for opposing defenses with pass catching ability. Gannaway spent this past weekend taking a look at the Kansas State football program. I expect his recruiting to continue to heat up over the next few weeks, Gannaway is a running back that can play on Saturdays in the future.
[player_tooltip player_id="258682" first="Travion" last="Dickens"]-Athlete-Prescott-2023
Prescott has a history of producing talented players that can produce at the division one level. The next prospect that fits that description is [player_tooltip player_id="258682" first="Travion" last="Dickens"]. Dickens is a young man that can take a game over from the linebacker position. He does an excellent job of fending off of blocks and getting into the offensive backfield. Dickens took a visit to West Point over the weekend and dominated on the defensive side of the ball and earned a scholarship offer in the process. Congratulations go out to Dickens!
[player_tooltip player_id="262460" first="Akira" last="Fujibayashi"]-Offensive Line-Greenwood-2026
The Tulsa Golden Hurricane has put on some impressive football camps over the past few weeks. Over the weekend, Tulsa played host to [player_tooltip player_id="262460" first="Akira" last="Fujibayashi"]. The Greenwood offensive lineman is a prospect to keep an eye on over the next couple of seasons. He is a lineman that uses his quickness well to get into opposing defensive linemen. Fujibayashi has the potential to play on Saturdays and performing well at the college camps should not come as a surprise. I expect big things from this Greenwood Bulldog.
[player_tooltip player_id="133157" first="Landon" last="Jones"]-Wide Receiver-Lonoke-2023
Lonoke wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id="133157" first="Landon" last="Jones"] has had a busy couple of weeks on the camp circuit. Jones has terrific speed, having recently ran 4.41 in the forty-yard dash. He was able to showcase his speed at the Memphis camp as well as the Arkansas camp over the past few weeks. Jones uses his speed well to create separation from opposing defenders. I expect a strong season from Jones and the team that lands him will get a prospect that can play the slot or stretch the field from the outside.
[player_tooltip player_id="211167" first="MarTavion" last="Casey"]-Athlete-Jacksonville-2024
Casey is a prospect that can line up all over the field. From the running back position, Casey has the speed to break into the open field in the blink of an eye. He is a patient runner that allows the lane to develop. Casey in the open field is a difficult runner to bring down. He was impressive at the Memphis camp and is a player that has momentum rolling for the upcoming season. I expect a strong season from the Jacksonville prospect.
