With 180+ players included in our rankings and watchlist, I wanted to see which schools had the most talent in the 2024 cycle. Below I highlighted 5 schools and a bonus school that boast some of the biggest and brightest stars in the incoming junior class. We have 4 Class A schools, one Class B school, and an 8-man team with some monster ’24 prospects.
Omaha Westside Warriors: The Warriors by far have the deepest 2024 class with several great up-and-coming players at key positions. Starting with the most important position, Quarterback, should be set with returning starter Anthony Rezac Anthony Rezac 6'3" | 200 lbs | QB Omaha Westside | 2024 State NE . Anthony was highly efficient during his sophomore campaign. After taking over the reins of the offense, he completed 68% of his passes for 1,221 yards and 19 touchdowns to only one interception. His backfield mate Jahmez Ross Jahmez Ross 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB Omaha Westside | 2024 State NE was also starting to catch fire towards the end of the season. Ross rushed for 472 yards and 4 touchdowns while averaging 7.3 yards per carry. One player that I think is going to surprise a lot of people is up-and-coming WR Jordon Hurst Jordon Hurst 5'11" | 180 lbs | DB Omaha Westside | 2024 State NE . He didn’t get much varsity time as a sophomore, but after a busy offseason, I think he will be ready to take over a bigger role in the Warrior’s offense. Anthony will also have big catch radius TE Trevor Spady Trevor Spady 6'4" | 215 lbs | TE Omaha Westside | 2024 State NE . Trevor is another athletic pass catcher that will be a reliable target over the middle of the field. RJ Eckhardt RJ Eckhardt 6'1" | 240 lbs | DL Omaha Westside | 2024 State NE and Jack Wing will be two monsters in the trenches for the next few years. Eckhardt played left guard last year and has great size and mobility for an interior lineman. Jack is a versatile player that could play center or guard for the Warriors. Defensively, the Warriors have some great players, especially in the secondary. 3 star ATH Caleb Benning Caleb Benning 5'11" | ATH Omaha Westside | 2024 State NE had a great breakout season as a sophomore. He is the returning tackle leader for Westside with 68 total tackles and he also snagged 4 interceptions. Benning should also be an impact player at wide receiver. Teddy Rezac Teddy Rezac 6'3" | 195 lbs | ATH Omaha Westside | 2024 State NE was phenomenal at cornerback for Westside and is developing into a lockdown defender. He also recorded 4 interceptions to go along with 26 tackles. LB Beau Ryan Beau Ryan 5'11" | 210 lbs | LB Omaha Westside | 2024 State NE is a player that is going to be a thumper in the middle of the defense and shoots off like a missile coming off the edge. Very impressive ’24 linebacker. Jonquel Osler Jonquel Osler 6'0" | 225 lbs | DL Omaha Westside | 2024 State NE is a player I can’t wait to watch in 2022 after showing several flashes of the special player he is. Osler is developing into a backfield monster after recording 6 tackles for loss and 3 sacks in a limited role. This is a group that has already played under the bright lights of the championship game and will carry lots of experience heading into year 3.

Bellevue West Thunderbirds: This group of Thunderbirds is going to be electric to watch in the next couple of years. They boast lots of athleticism and speed in this group, backed by a system that has developed lots of college prospects for years. The headliner of the group is 4-star wide receiver Dae’Vonn Hall Dae’Vonn Hall 6'2" | 175 lbs | WR Bellevue West | 2024 State NE who has been on the radar of several Power 5 schools since the end of his freshman year. Dae’vonn is an elite receiver with top-tier route-running, footwork, and hands. He holds offers from Arkansas, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa, and more. Throwing to him will be new QB1 Daniel Kaelin Daniel Kaelin 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB Bellevue West | 2024 State NE who also holds several P5 offers from Duke, Rutgers, Vanderbilt, Michigan State, and more. Kaelin is a very accurate pro-style QB with a clean release and a high football IQ. Watch out for new addition, Isaiah McMorris Isaiah McMorris 6'0" | 175 lbs | WR Bellevue West | 2024 State NE , who is one of the most explosive and elusive players in the 2024 class. He is a multi-faceted player that can star at WR, DB, and as a returner. ATH Asher Jenkins Asher Jenkins 6'1" | 190 lbs | ATH Bellevue West | 2024 State NE and RB Charlie Gewinner Charlie Gewinner 5'9" | 170 lbs | RB Bellevue West | 2024 State NE will provide TONS of speed to the offense. Asher was a leg in Bellevue West’s state championship winning 4×100 and a second place finish in the 400 with a time of 49.35. Charlie suffered an injury that cut his sophomore season short, but he has been tearing it up at camps. He posted a camp-best 4.53 at the PRZ Prospect Tour in Iowa. Ben Goodwater Ben Goodwater 6'3" | 185 lbs | WR Bellevue West | 2024 State NE is going to be another very good depth receiver for the Thunderbirds. He’s a lengthy receiver that glides through his routes and looks like he’s already been burning DBs at camp (clip below).

Omaha North Vikings: One thing to love about North’s 2024 class is the defensive firepower they’re getting from here. They saw two players transfer in that should be day one contributors in the front seven. DL S’marious Henderson S’marious Henderson 6'3" | 295 lbs | DL Omaha North | 2024 State NE is a run-stuffing, space-eating monster in the trenches that will pair with freshman stud, Tyson Terry Tyson Terry 6'2" | 270 lbs | DL Omaha North | 2025 State NE , very nicely. Nolan Venner Nolan Venner 6'0" | 205 lbs | LB Omaha North | 2024 State NE is a transfer linebacker from Northwest who has been on my radar since the Stock Up camp in December. He is explosive when shooting through his gaps and is a sure tackler when the ball carrier is in his grasp. Donovan Jones Donovan Jones 6'0" | 185 lbs | DB Omaha North | 2024 State NE is a payer that I think will develop into one of the top DBs in his class. Jones played a limited safety role in 2021 but should carve out a bigger role this upcoming season. He is a physical DB that plays bigger than his size and doesn’t hesitate to step into the box and help in run support. Expect junior Jackson Flere Jackson Flere 5'11" | 160 lbs | QB Omaha North | 2024 NE to be squarely in the race for the QB1 job. He was the backup last year and played in small spots throughout the year. WR/ATH KeVaughn Shannon KeVaughn Shannon 5'8" | 140 lbs | WR Omaha Westside | 2024 State NE is a wild card and could have a huge season. He’s a speedy receiver that can create separation off the line and can track down deep balls.
Donovan Jones Donovan Jones 6'0" | 185 lbs | DB Omaha North | 2024 State NE | DB/WR | 5’10″ 170 lbs
Nolan Venner Nolan Venner 6'0" | 205 lbs | LB Omaha North | 2024 State NE | LB | 5’11″ 205 lbs
S’marious Henderson S’marious Henderson 6'3" | 295 lbs | DL Omaha North | 2024 State NE | DL/OL | 6’4″ 320 lbs
KeVaughn Shannon KeVaughn Shannon 5'8" | 140 lbs | WR Omaha Westside | 2024 State NE | WR
Jackson Flere Jackson Flere 5'11" | 160 lbs | QB Omaha North | 2024 NE | QB | 5’11″ 160 lbs
Blair Bears: The Blair Bears are bringing back lots of offensive weapons, including an impressive trio of wide receivers. Brady Brown Brady Brown 5'11" | 185 lbs | WR Blair | 2024 State NE has been seeing varsity playing time since his freshman year and has established himself as one of the top wideouts in the 2024 class. J’shawn Unger J’shawn Unger 6'4" | 205 lbs | ATH Blair | 2024 State NE is a talented multi-sport athlete (Husker baseball commit) with sure hands can use his size to out-physical defenders. Ben Holcomb Ben Holcomb 6'1" | 185 lbs | LB Blair | 2024 State NE is the third part of this dangerous receiver group, but I believe he projects best as an outside linebacker at the next level. His timing and first step off the snap are very impressive. Ben wreaked havoc in several backfields during his sophomore season. Lastly, Ethan Baessler Ethan Baessler 5'9" | 175 lbs | ATH Blair | 2024 State NE is a player that I think will round out into a top-tier defensive back. He is a reactive, physical cornerback that uses his hands very well and can get physical with the receiver. Baessler also gives the Bears a weapon in the return game.
Ben Holcomb Ben Holcomb 6'1" | 185 lbs | LB Blair | 2024 State NE | LB | 6’2″ 185 lbs
Brady Brown Brady Brown 5'11" | 185 lbs | WR Blair | 2024 State NE | WR | 5’10″ 165 lbs
J’shawn Unger J’shawn Unger 6'4" | 205 lbs | ATH Blair | 2024 State NE | WR | 6’3″ 180 lbs
Bode Soukup Bode Soukup 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Blair | 2024 State NE | QB | 6’1″ 150 lbs
Ethan Baessler Ethan Baessler 5'9" | 175 lbs | ATH Blair | 2024 State NE | ATH | 5’9″ 170 lbs
Papillion-La Vista Monarchs: Lots of offensive firepower in the Monarch’s 2024 class. TE Eric Ingwerson Eric Ingwerson 6'7" | 245 lbs | TE Papillion-La Vista | 2024 State NE has emerged as a hot prospect this spring and has caught the eye of power 5 teams. Eric is a towering tight end with lots of length and can high point the ball over any defender. Don’t forget he is also projected to play some defensive end for the Monarchs as well. Papillion will also have two hard-working, gritty running backs in their backfield. Payton Prestito Payton Prestito 5'10" | 185 lbs | RB Papillion-La Vista | 2024 State NE received a fair share of carries as a sophomore and recorded 678 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns while also being a breakout player at corner. Jordan Barrientos Jordan Barrientos 5'8" | 175 lbs | RB Papillion-La Vista | 2024 State NE is a player I would classify as a “scat-back” because of his shiftiness, elusiveness, and versatility as a receiver. Bellevue West transfer Travis Hines II Travis Hines II 6'1" | 160 lbs | DB Papillion La Vista | 2024 State NE is an impressive athlete that could carve out a role on both offense and defense. I got to watch him compete at the Stock Up camp in December and I was very impressed with his route-running, especially coming in and out of breaks. Tavien Pirtle Tavien Pirtle 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Papillion-La Vista | 2024 State NE and Connor Ossenfort will be vying for the starting QB role. Whoever is starting under center should feel comfortable knowing they have a hog like Dallas Hamilton blocking for them on the offensive line. Dallas is a player I have big expectations for in 2021 because of his size and the vaunted Monarch’s offensive and defensive line development. Hamilton should be a very polished and dominant player by the time his prep career is over.
Payton Prestito Payton Prestito 5'10" | 185 lbs | RB Papillion-La Vista | 2024 State NE | RB | 5’10″ 185 lbs
Eric Ingwerson Eric Ingwerson 6'7" | 245 lbs | TE Papillion-La Vista | 2024 State NE | TE/DL | 6’7″ 230 lbs
Jordan Barrientos Jordan Barrientos 5'8" | 175 lbs | RB Papillion-La Vista | 2024 State NE | RB | 5’8″ 165 lbs
Travis Hines II Travis Hines II 6'1" | 160 lbs | DB Papillion La Vista | 2024 State NE | WR/DB | 6’1″ 155 lbs
Tavien Pirtle Tavien Pirtle 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Papillion-La Vista | 2024 State NE | QB | 5’10″ 155 lbs
Connor Ossenfort | QB | 5’7″ 185 lbs
Dallas Hamilton | OL/DL | 6’2″ 240 lbs
BONUS TEAM
Cross County: I also wanted to give a shout-out to Cross County. Cross County is an 8-man team so it’s going to be small in general, but their 2024 class is already looking like a group of studs. The Cougars came very close to capturing the Class D1 state championship, unfortunately, they fell to Howells Dodge. Despite the rough ending to their season, they have a lot to look forward to with the incoming juniors. FB/LB Izaac Dickey Izaac Dickey 5'10" | 215 lbs | ATH Cross County | 2024 State NE has been a monster in the weight room since the season’s conclusion. Dickey has been smashing school weight room records as a sophomore. Pushing PR’s of 345 bench press, 515 squat, and a 520 deadlift. He is noticeably bigger and will be a battering ram as a lead blocker and big hitter at linebacker. Alex Noyd Alex Noyd 5'11" | 215 lbs | LB Cross County | 2024 State NE is going to be another solid run-stuffer for the Cougar defense. Noyd is a versatile player that can play linebacker, fullback, and spent some time on the O-line. At 5’11″ 215 lbs, Alex will be a force in the Cougar defense. Tanner Hollinger Tanner Hollinger 6'6" | 235 lbs | TE Cross County | 2024 State NE is a player that you should get familiar with sooner rather than later. Tanner is the younger brother of South Dakota commit Cory Hollinger. I say “younger” brother because Tanner is certainly not little bro by any means. Tanner stands at a towering 6’5″ and will be an intriguing prospect to follow in the next couple of years. He will be a mismatch nightmare against any defender you line up against him and he can also use his length and athleticism to be a terror coming off the edge. Brayden Schmidtberger is another interesting athlete for Cross County. Brayden played several different roles as QB, RB, WR, and DB. I’m a fan of Schmidtberger’s potential as a corner, he is a fluid athlete that can go up and fight for the ball against any receiver. Watch out for this hungry group of young men, they’re ready to avenge last season and hopefully end up back in Memorial Stadium.
