5 Rising Seniors in Montgomery County Poised to Break Out

The 2023 Rankings update brought some new faces. These are 5 guys in Montgomery County that have flown under the radar but have an opportunity to rise in the rankings. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="363411" first="Tavon" last="Bailey"] (2023) | 5’11 WR | Paint Branch</strong> Bailey is a receiver that has shown flashes of becoming an elite receiver. He has great feet and runs great routes. He does a great job of creating separation on the break of the route. He also does a great job of tracking the ball and putting himself in position to be able to get the ball. He also has sure hands. He also has shown the ability to lay out and make tough grabs. Bailey is a very solid receiver and has the ability to have a very productive season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="321769" first="Elvis" last="Gomez"] (2023) | 6’3 T | Rockville</strong> Gomez is a tackle with great size. He is not overly reliant on his size as he has shown some strong technical ability. He does a great job with his hands as he does a great job of getting his hands inside defenders. He also has good footwork as he does a great job of turning players away from the hole. He does need to work on his pad level and his quickness off the ball. Gomez has great potential and will look to put it all together this season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="321818" first="Christian" last="Hayes"] (2023) | 6’0 DT | Quince Orchard</strong> Hayes is a transfer from Good Counsel. He has the size and the physical ability to be a big problem. He has shown the ability to get skinny and slip double teams and blocks. He also has shown that he has a very high motor. He needs to improve his ability to shed blocks. He also needs to improve the use of his hands when he is engaged in a block. Hayes will massively improve his production at Quince Orchard. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="363398" first="Anthony" last="Manana"] (2023) | 6’1 DL | Sherwood</strong> Manana has been a huge part of Sherwood’s defense the past few years. He is a very good run stopper and does a great job of fighting off blocks and making plays on the ball carrier. He is a very disruptive presence that demands attention from opposing offenses. He needs to improve his production as a pass rusher as he seems to struggle to be effective as a pass rusher. Manana is a very important player for Sherwood. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="363415" first="Tyrell" last="Ramsey"] (2023) | 6’0 C | Seneca Valley</strong> Ramsey is a traditional interior lineman. He is a great run blocker. He has good size and strength, and he uses these attributes to overpower defenders. He is consistently throwing defenders to the ground. He also does a decent job with his hands as he tries to fight for inside position. If he can improve his quickness off the ball and his ability to drive defenders back downfield he will be a dominant lineman. Ramsey is a very solid player that will anchor Seneca Valley’s offensive line.
