Tennesse Future Stars held their third tryout out of four this weekend at Grace Christian Academy in Knoxville, TN. A solid turnout with a good amount of talent and competition amongst all ages and position groups. Here are the standouts who played wide receiver this past weekend in hopes to earn a spot on the roster.
Riley Miller | Wide Receiver | 2028
Miller had a great understanding of not only the game but his position as a sixth-grader. Every direction that he was given he quickly absorbed and adjusted accordingly. With his soft hands, he was able to reach for the football and make plays that others could not. As his physical strength grows he will only continue to get better with man-to-man coverage and creating space between himself and his defender.
Jeremiah Smith | Wide Receiver | 2027
Smith stood out amongst the receiver group for his height as a seventh-grader. His ability to not only find open spaces but to connect with each quarterback was impressive. When up against defenders he was able to separate himself in order to make big plays. It will be exciting to watch him evolve and grow once in a position to build trust with the quarterback and construct a cohesive playbook.
Terry Beaufort Terry Beaufort 5'3" | 125 lbs | ATH Bearden | 2027 TN | Wide Receiver | 2027
Beaufort’s athleticism was unmatched up against defenders when playing man to man. Every cut he made to get open was crisp and effortless. When catching the football he quickly brought the ball into his chest allowing him to take off while protecting the football. His ability to take short passes and turn them into big plays downfield was key when standing out on Saturday. He is the type of receiver that any team would be lucky to have on their roster.
Tory Beaufort | Wide Receiver | 2026
Beaufort was one of the top standouts out of the entire Knoxville tryout. He exudes the epitome of athleticism and drive. His physical stamina out beat the competition in his ability to make sharp cuts and change directions quickly. Coming off his cuts he demonstrated bursts of speed and power. There is no hesitation in that Beaufort will make big plays when the ball is in his hands. He has mastered his initial step off the line of scrimmage allowing him to use his speed to break downfield and score touchdowns. Very excited to see the advancements physically and mentally as he enters high school play. He is definitely one to not lose sight of coming this fall.
Tyreek King Tyreek King 6'0" | 170 lbs | WR Knox. Catholic | 2026 State TN | Wide Receiver | 2026
This eighth-grade stud had a great understanding of the game. His intelligence and ability to connect with the quarterback did not go unnoticed. He would make split-second decisions that would turn plays into next-level opportunities to gain yardage. His physical stature helped him when going up against smaller defensive backs. Excited to see his development in his mental game as his physicality grows in high school.
