The two-day event at Cherokee Trail High School consisted of laser-timed combine drills, individual position instruction, one-on-one competitions, and team competitions. One player from each position was named MVP at the end of the event, but there was no shortage of premier talent in attendance.
This article will look at seven stand-out players who deserve more attention as recruiting prospects.
Jake Stonebraker Jake Stonebraker 6'1" | 200 lbs | ATH Douglas County | 2024 State CO | Douglas County | 6’1”, 205lbs | 2024 EDGE/OLB
Stonebraker is a stud. Every movement he made at the camp was extremely explosive and fueled by unwavering energy. He has fast hands to go along with his speed, making him difficult to contain when rushing off the edge. His strength and physicality were displayed during every rep, showing his competitive mentality. Stonebraker has gained some popularity this fall, but expect his value as a recruit to skyrocket soon.

Jordan Niesent Jordan Niesent 5'10" | 175 lbs | ATH Poudre | 2023 State CO | Poudre | 5’10”, 175lbs | 2023 RB
Niesent was a first-day stand-out because of his explosive performance during the combine. He clocked 4.60 seconds on his 40-yard dash, the fastest 40-time among all attendees. He has phenomenal athleticism, making him an explosive runner who hits the hole with speed and the ability to accelerate out of his cuts quickly. In addition to being an electrifying runner, Niesent is a viable option in the passing game because of his dangerous playmaking abilities.
Blake Griffin Blake Griffin 5'9" | 195 lbs | RB Montrose | 2024 State CO | Montrose | 5’9”, 180lbs | 2024 RB
Griffin was another running back who had an outstanding showing at the camp, starting with the combine testing. He recorded the second-fastest 40-yard dash time, clocking 4.68 seconds on the lasered system. The way he can accelerate out of his cuts and take advantage of the smallest gap in the defensive is really impressive. His versatility as a receiver coming out of the backfield makes him a serious problem for defenses. Griffin is a prospect with significant upside, making him a true sleeper.

Wyatt Sprague Wyatt Sprague 6'1" | 170 lbs | QB Holyoke | 2024 State CO | Holyoke | 6’2”, 170lbs | 2024 QB
Sprague was one of the more underrated quarterbacks at the camp. He has solid footwork and a good pocket presence. He did a good job identifying what the defense was doing with coverages and made quick decisions for completions that allowed his receiver to gain yards after the catch. His ability to make the correct reads helped him stand out at the camp. Sprague is a talented player with serious potential as a recruit to watch this fall.

Seth Olsen | Chaparral | 6’6”, 280lbs | 2024 LT
Olsen is another radar pop-up who brings fantastic size and great strength to the exterior of the offensive line. He showed off his fast hands, precise strikes, and quick feet during the event. He did well at driving his man away from the pocket and sealing off the outside edge during the one-on-one and team portions of the day. Olsen is an OL sleeper who immediately passes the eye test and continues to impress with every rep.
Ellis Williams | Cherokee Trail | | 2023 LB
Williams is a low-flyer on the radar who had an impressive showing at the camp. He has explosive movements, especially when playing downhill against the run. He did a great job reading his keys and recognizing what the offense was doing during inside-haul and team competitions, which made him stand out from his interior linebacker position. Williams is a talented player and a solid potential prospect for a linebacker core.
Lyam Edwards Lyam Edwards 5'9" | 175 lbs | ATH Ponderosa | 2023 State CO | Ponderosa | 5’9, 175lbs | 2023 DB/WR
Edwards is a player who is currently flying under the radar, but expect his lack of popularity to be short-lived. He is a great athlete with sharp instincts and playmaking abilities. His backpedals are smooth, and he flips his hips quickly, helping him cover double moves and close space quickly. Once the ball is in the air, he can locate it in time to make a play. Edwards stood out on the first day because of his athleticism, speed (4.84s 40-yd dash), and eagerness to take the coaching he was given and immediately apply it on the field.
