Players get bigger, faster, stronger, and some change their atmosphere in all to highlight their skills in a program that suits them better. We are taking a look at some new additions to teams around the state that will make an immediate impact on the field.
Chase Wilkens Chase Wilkens 6'5" | 230 lbs | TE St. Francis Academy | 2023 State MDTransfer from Mount Saint Joseph to Saint Francis Academy. Wilkens is a prototype TE at 6’4-6’6 230+ pounds. His receiving skills are more advanced than the average tight end. He shows crafty footwork and route running while using his size as an advantage. He loves crossing routes and playing out of the slot position. He is a mismatch for most linebackers.

Transfer from Gonzaga to Saint Mary’s (Annapolis). Carson is one heck of an athlete and a dangerous quarterback. In the WCAC he’s proved himself to be one of the best Quarterbacks in his class, leading the eagles to victory against some the best programs in Maryland, including DeMatha, Good Council, and Saint Johns. Petitbon has a chip on his shoulder and something to prove this year with his hometown school. He will be a very exciting player to watch this year in the MIAA. He could be that missing piece the already talented St. Mary’s program needs to top their competitors.

Offers: Merrimack College
Transfer from Gilman to Saint Francis Academy. Jones is a very versatile receiver, he has good size at 6’1 190lbs, and clocked a 4.5 40-yard dash. He has big play ability and is a competitor. I had the opportunity to watch Jones over the offseason at multiple 7-on-7 tournaments, he’s fast and has sure hands.

Transfer from Edgewood to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. Segbe is an explosive and aggressive defensive back which is a great fit for the OLMC defense. He will excel in this defense alongside the other athletic playmakers. He will be up against a talented MIAA (B) conference where he will be able to measure his talent on a bigger scale.

Mekhi Workman Mekhi Workman 5'10" | 165 lbs | WR St. Frances | 2023 State MD
Offers: Sacred Heart, Holy Cross, Fairmont State, Notre Dame College, Old Dominion.
Transfer from Franklin to Saint Francis Academy. Workman is the perfect fit for the SFA offense, he’s fast, elusive, and is very crafty in his route running. His jump ball ability is impressive, surprising to most. I expect Workman to make an impact in the offense and on special teams. Expect his recruiting to take a leap with his new school and program.
