PRZ IL Prospect Tour: Session 2 WR/DB Preview
With our PRZ IL Prospect Tour coming up on Saturday, May 7th we’re continuing with our positional previews to provide further exposure to the young student athletes coming out to the showcase. With that being said, we’re kicking this off with a quick preview of some of the WR/DBs that are going to be in attendance. Keep in mind that this is a preview article and a more in-depth article series will come after the showcase is held diving into how the young men performed at the showcase in testing as well as in positional drills and during 1 on 1’s.
Cameron Ashley 2023 6’0″ Simeon Twitter
Mr. Ashley is a young man that provided insight last fall of being able to make the catch in traffic as well as find the soft spot in zone coverage to be an outlet for his quarterback. With that being said, he did provide glimpses of his ability to utilize speed cuts at the top of his route to create enough separation from the defender to haul in the grab along the sideline. I’m interested to see where his speed cuts and hard cuts are at during this showcase to create separation from the defender as well as seeing how consistent he can come down with those 50/50 balls.
Jaden Bossie Jaden Bossie 5'10" | 170 lbs | ATH Mt Carmel | 2023 State IL 2023 5’10” Mount Carmel Twitter
Mr. Bossie is a young man that I’ve scouted over the years seeing his skillset both as a defensive back and as a receiver. His versatility to make an impact on both sides of the ball is an understatement as he has the foot quicks to take a slot bubble screen the distance for six and has the ability to close quickly on the ball carrier to blow up the play. Mr. Bossie is the exact definition of an ATH and is one heck of a track star as well. Whichever side of the ball he decides to take snaps on Saturday, he’s going to put on a show. I’m very interested to see how his combine testing unfolds, specifically his 40 time, as he flies on tape. With all of the talented young men being in attendance at our showcase, he could very well sneak up and be in the running for a top performer during session two.
Jayden Cook Jayden Cook 6'2" | 180 lbs | RB Lincoln-Way East | 2023 IL 2023 6’1″ Lincoln Way East Twitter
Mr. Cook is a young man that I believe is set up to have one heck of a breakout season at receiver for Lincoln-Way East. With the departure of the talented 22′ class, he’s primed to take over for one of my favorite wideouts in the state Jack Tremblay Jack Tremblay 6'1" | 190 lbs | WR Lincoln Way East | 2022 State IL as WR1 for his team. His ability to play above the rim on deep shots downfield and turn a screen into a big gain are one to keep an eye on during 1-on-1s. I can’t wait to see how he does during the positional drills to see how his breaks have formulated since the end of the fall season. Be on the lookout for this young man as he’s another talented prospect that could be in the running as a top performer during session two.
Torey French Torey French 5'8" | 160 lbs | ATH Carmel Catholic | 2024 State IL 2024 5’8″ Carmel Catholic Twitter
Mr. French is a newer name to me after this fall season concluded but my oh my. Talk about a versatile player that can play a multitude of positions. You need him at halfback? You got it. You need him at receiver? You got it. You need him at corner? You got it. Want to use him in the return game? Yeah, he can do that too. His foot quicks and his quick first step out of his stance (on both sides of the ball) are one to keep an eye on during the showcase. What I’m most interested to see out of this young man is his elusiveness coming to light during 1 on 1s as he’s a shifty player when the ball is in his hands.
Will Roberts 2024 6’1″ Hononegah Twitter
Mr. Roberts is a young man that’s been on my radar for some time now and one that has continued to develop over each season so far. What I’m most interested to see out of this young man is how consistent he can be during 1 on 1s with his ability to break the defender off at the top of the route creating separation and winning those 50/50 balls. This last fall season, he provided insight into his ability in both of those areas when he was on JV. Going up against Varsity level competition is another ball of wax, but I believe he’s going to be able to hold his own here.
Miles Cremascoli Miles Cremascoli 6'3" | 205 lbs | ATH New Trier | 2024 State IL 2024 6’3″ New Trier Twitter
Mr. Cremascoli is the younger brother of Star QB Nevan Cremascoli Nevan Cremascoli 6'4" | 205 lbs | QB New Trier | 2022 State IL who’s heading to Northern Illinois University next fall. You can line up this young man at various positions on both sides of the ball and he would be able to hold his own. What I’m most excited about is being able to see his route running and ability to play above the rim with his long catch radius. I wouldn’t be surprised if this young man ends up hauling in an insane one hand grab over a defender as his reach is that long. He can also be one heck of a defensive end prospect as well and has untapped potential for both sides of the ball.
