Sammy Kelley | WR | 6’ 175lbs | Grapevine | 2024 |
2021 stats: 25 receptions 433 recieving yards 6 receiving TD
Sammy Kelley is a versatile receiver with inside/outside flex with a variety of routes. He is a deceptive route runner with great stop and start burst coming in and out of his cuts. Sammy has shown the ability to be an athlete that plays way above the rim , making contested catches look effortless on jump balls. Gos, fades, posts, but not just limited to deep threat as he is the target on quick slants and screen passes and is just as productive. Sammy had a limited role in 2021 with 25 receptions, but was still able to come away with 6 touchdowns, with a reception/touchdown ratio like that I expect Sammy to get more targets and be a bigger part of the Grapevine offense next season.
Anthony Rivera | WR | 6’ 185lbs | Chapin El Paso | 2023 |
2021 stats: 59 receptions 1,154 yards 18 touchdowns
If you’ve ever seen a older kid play with kids younger then him, then that pretty much describes what it looks like when watching Anthony Rivera’s junior season film at receiver. Whether that be plucking the football out of the air in jump ball situations (while most times being double covered) or throwing helpless defensive backs off of him while picking up YAC! Rivera just seems to be on another level out there on the football field and I’m excited to see what he does his senior season!
Tyson Timms Tyson Timms 6'2" | 195 lbs | TE Aledo | 2024 State TX | WR/TE | 6’2″ 195lbs | Aledo 2024 |
Timms is a versatile receiver that has inside/outside flex while also putting his hand in the dirt at TE. He excels at picking up yards after the catch, often taking shallower routes at wideout such as slants the distance after breaking a couple tackles along the way! Players bounce off of Timms when attempting to initiate contact, making him a reliable target in the middle of the field when having to hang on to the ball. He is a smart player, Timms makes plenty of his big catches when the play breaks down and he has the help his quarterback by finding open space and putting his hand up. Timms also displayed his blocking ability when lined up at tight end, taking on outside linebackers and defensive ends 1on1 in the gun game.
Kenny Atunrase | WR/TE | 6’3″ 220lbs | Cole HS | 2024 |
Atunrase is a grown man on the football field, he has great size to match with the speed and body control that helps him be a complete receiver. Kenny is smooth coming out of his breaks and attacks the ball in the air like a rebound. He can play any spot as a pass catcher, inside/outside flex and even lines up at tight end where he seems to spend most of his time. Atunrase is just a mismatch, too big for corners to cover him and too quick for linebackers. After seeing him in person at the Prepredzone showcase I’m confident to say he is D1 material come 2024, yall can quote me on that.
Winston Black | WR | 6’4″ 205lbs | Addison Greenhill | 2023 |
2021 stats: 49 receptions 741 yards 7 touchdowns
Winston Black is a huge target for his quarterback with a massive catch radius that just makes it hard to over throw him! Black makes an extraordinary amount of contested catches outside the numbers (most times being double covered) and plays way WAY above the rim if needed, winning jumpballs 25+ yards down the field on a consistent basis. Black is a true talent and the position, I’ve never seen film of a reciever just consistently winninggo routes at the rate that Black does! He is unstoppable! The defense knows what’s coming and he still beats them on the same route and there is just nothing they can do about it. Okay so if you aren’t sold yet, look at his stats that I posted for him above and ponder this…. he only played 6 games!
Amari Henry | WR | 6’ 185lbs | Keller | 2023 |
2021 stats: 78 receptions 1229 receiving yards 14 touchdowns
Henry primarily lines up in the slot, he has a variety of routes in his bag he utilizes that makes him hard to predict coming out of his breaks. He’s a tough player that understands football and knows when and who to block if his quarterback has to take off. Henry has deceptive routes that create separation for his quarterback but can grab contested catches in a crowd when he needs to. Henry is a real threat though with the ball in his hands, especially on shallow routes. He looks like a runningback after the catch, breaking through tackles and fighting for every yard! I really like his game and the production is there, Amari Henry will be a bigtime prospect for 2023.
