I try not to eat fast food too much, but when I do, few things are better than finding those extra fries that have fallen out of the container into the bottom of the takeout bag. You have eaten the main meal, and it seems like you are done, but no – there are always a handful of fries loose on the bottom of the bag. Those bonus nuggets of flavor seem to top off a solid, fast food burger and fries combo.
Going over my notes from the Minnesota Showcase, I have a lot of observations about some of the kids that didn’t make it into the main meal of my MVP stories, but that doesn’t mean they won’t make tasty nuggets of information coming off the Showcase.
For my final Minnesota Showcase story, I am clearing out my notebook, here are some random observations I made wondering around the combine a few weeks ago – my Prep Red Zone Showcase fries at the bottom of the bag.
<strong>Joey Zach</strong> <strong>Eden Prairie OL</strong>
He had good low hips in drills. Then he had a solid rep on a pass block drill.
<strong>Riley Peters</strong> <strong>Pequot Lakes OL</strong>
He showed low hips in drills. In one-on-ones, he stayed with his pass rusher despite dealing with back-to-back pass rush moves in the same rep. Later, he showed good feet on a pass rush rep.
<strong>Alexander Baccoli</strong> <strong>Eastview OL</strong>
He demonstrated good footwork during a pass-blocking drill. He showed a good strong punch off the line of scrimmage.

He had good hips and feet in a pass-rush drill. His low hips stuffed a bull rush during one-on-ones.

He had good feet in a pass block drill, staying with the rusher on the edge.
<strong>Ashton Sayre</strong> <strong>Alexandrea DL</strong>
Sayre used a good spin move to get off a block. Later, he used a good swim move on an inside pass rush.

Used good footwork and hips to stop a bullrush.

He made a one-handed catch. Later, he undercut two routes for deflections.

He showed tight coverage, then had excellent defense on a fade route using his body and deflected the pass.

Rieckhoff ran a nice route that gave him separation and allowed him to make a catch.
<strong>Francisco Fernandez</strong> <strong>Spring Lake Park DB</strong>
He made a nice break on the ball for a deflection.
<strong>Liban Ali</strong> <strong>Liberty Prep Academy DB</strong>
Ali showed a solid jam coming off the line of scrimmage.
<strong>Kaine Larocque</strong> <strong>Apple Valley DB</strong>
Larocque made a good play on the ball. He knocked down another pass and then made a nice play on another ball.

He high-pointed a ball to make a leaping catch.

He undercut a route for a deflection.
