Every legitimate team has to have linemen upfront that can control the line of scrimmage and protect the passer. It’s imperative to be able to line it up and knock the defensive linemen back to gain a first down in any situation. A mauler by definition is an offensive linemen who has the ability to come off the ball and create displacement in the run game. These furniture movers are more guys that have stood out to me so far.
Willie Goodacre – Denton Guyer High school – class of 2024
Willie made the transition to offensive line last year and has developed himself into a national blue chip recruit. At 6’5 280 he is a lean, athletic, and assertive tackle that has the foot speed and bend needed to be able to survive on the edge at the next level. He has a great base, footwork, and high football IQ. He’s done an amazing job with his body control at every event that I’ve seen him at so far. He has early reported scholarship offers from SMU, UNT, and the University of Nebraska. The bottom line is that he is an elite prospect that is well coached and I look forward to seeing more of him and his technique as the summer progresses.
Diego Garcia – Lamar High school- class of 2024
Diego is a 6’1 260 pound interior offensive line prospect out of Arlington Texas.
He does a good job creating an initial surge off of the line of scrimmage and has shown the ability to maintain sustain base blocks when in one on one situations. What was most impressive about him on film was his ability to snap the ball then snap a punch off on the defender with the off hand. He has some mass to add to his frame and upper back but has come a long way with his patience, posture, and technique. He is going to be a huge factor in Lamar’s success up front next fall.
Ashton Scott – Red Oak High school- Class of 2024
Ashton is a 6’3 300 pound powerful interior offensive linemen out of Red Oak, Texas. Ashton is a interesting prospect with a ton of power, position versatility, and potential. He spends his free time competing in strong man competitions and recently put up around 585 pounds on back squat.
Along with his superlative numbers in the weight room he has just as solid film and has had a huge spring thus far. I predict that he will soon be a national recruit with his size, mobility and strength. He has taken early unofficial visits to the University of Texas and Oklahoma.
Frank Moss Jr – Heights High school- Class of 2024
Frank is a 6’1 320 pound offensive linemen out of Houston, Texas. He is a powerful and stout interior linemen that possesses heavy hands and does a great job anchoring on the bull rush. He has dominated the past few camps he’s attended and has some impressive film that he put on tape last fall. What intrigues me about his game is that he has an explosive lower half and makes up for his height with hat speed and power. He has an early offer from the University of Houston and is primed for a huge summer.
