Demetri Chester, Palm Desert, 2023
Chester is a small running back who played behind a senior last season but still managed to get around 10 carries a game. He is not the fastest running back you’ll see but he is explosive early in his runs. He has good field vision and can break tackles. I’d like to see him lower his pad level a bit early in his runs which is a surprising critique considering he is 5-foot-5. Chester is not afraid of contact and he will get a tough five yards rather than trying to always make a huge play with diminishing results.

Fischer Huss, Troy, 2023
Huss plays in a double-wing system at Troy and splits carries with another running back. He mostly lines up as the center back and they use him on inside runs with fly sweep motions after to try to draw linebackers to the outside. Huss runs hard and has solid speed once he gets into the open field. He has strong legs and is a downhill runner who isn’t as shifty as some backs. His field vision is solid and he could lower his pad level a bit when navigating through the second level. Huss will put up big numbers his senior year and should get some lower level offers during the season.

Jacob Terry Jacob Terry 5'9" | 185 lbs | RB Valencia | 2023 CA , Valencia, 2023
Valencia gets the ball to Terry a lot in a variety of ways. His most impressive runs are in 21 personnel when they run weak side dive and if he makes the backer miss he is poised for a huge play. He does a great job getting his knees high and running hard through the second level. Terry is a downhill runner who makes one move and goes. He has burst when he gets into the open field. Culver-Stockton just offered him recently and he is getting a lot of lower level offers.

Jonathan Sandoval, Beckman, 2023
Sandoval is a classic running back and linebacker hybrid with a thick frame who is aggressive. He runs low and drives his feet through contact. Beckman sometimes runs 21 personnel and has him as a lead blocker which he is actually very good at doing. He needs to improve his speed if he wants to be a college prospect and he seems like a hard worker who knows he needs to improve in that regard. He may be better as a college prospect as a linebacker, but he should be an effective running back next year who will be tough to bring down.
