For years, the region has been home to some impressive football players, but over the past few seasons, the spotlight has been able to shine a lot brighter on the region.
As you continue to read from our team profiles and Shannon Jordan’s focus on athletes, a lot more Tampa area prospects continue to pop up.
With much of the focus on the rising senior class (2023) this spring, today we bring you five Class of 2024 student/athletes who have already turned heads – with two full seasons remaining.
Titus Bullard, DE, 6-2, 205, Tampa Berkeley Prep. During a season where this program reached the 3A state finals – falling short to powerhouse Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna, here is someone who a huge impact. His ability to put his hand down and get after the quarterback showcases his speed and agility. His knack of using his speed and overall athleticism gives him an opportunity to show his ability to stop the run – inside or outside. A true competitor with plenty of football skills.

Anthony Carrie, RB, 6-0, 185, Tampa Carrollwood Day. The more you watch this impressive talent the more you love what he brings to the table. Quick, powerful and great vision. He hits the hole fast and is powerful enough to break tackles and elusive enough to turn short plays into big gainers. He is the type of back who fits just about any scheme because he catches, blocks and runs. Solid football player who is only getting better.

Peter Pesansky, DL, 6-3, 265, Tampa Jesuit. During a state championship season, there were several talented prospects on this team, but here is one who made a huge impact all season. He is athletic, quick and very smart. No matter where you line him up on the field, he will end up shining. Defensive end, interior or special teams, he makes plays. The brother of the Tigers’ former quarterback, you can see his athleticism, and figures to step up his game over the next two season. This young man has the potential to be a big-time talent.

Booker Pickett, Edge, 6-4, 200, Tampa Wharton. Here is one of the elite football prospects in the state – having watched him the past two years, this is a relentless talent who is willing to put a lot into the game. Coming from a football family, you can understand why colleges across the country are keeping an eye on his every move. Watch him perform and you are automatically bowled over by what he brings to the table.

Matthew Stahl, Athlete 6-1, 190, Tampa Bay Tech. Making the move from Tampa Chamberlain, this is one of those young men who has been able to fly under the radar, but not anymore. He is threat as a pass rusher and a run stopper, who will keep this program at the top. His first step overwhelms offensive linemen – and as he gets bigger and stronger – his confidence level will be off the charts. This is truly an elite performer.
