OFFENSE
Offensively, Jackson-Olin is retaining a ton of great talent in the passing game with Cameron Jennings Cameron Jennings 6'1" | 240 lbs | QB A.H. PARKER | 2024 State AL , Rashad Sager, and Lamarius Byrd.
Cameron Jennings Cameron Jennings 6'1" | 240 lbs | QB A.H. PARKER | 2024 State AL -QB
While playing in relief for senior QB Malek Lowe, Cameron Jennings Cameron Jennings 6'1" | 240 lbs | QB A.H. PARKER | 2024 State AL showed a ton of promise last fall at QB for Jackson-Olin, the 2024 looked like a natural under center and is going to be a big piece of their offense heading into this season. Jennings has a talented strong arm that can make a variety of passes deep downfield, and his mobility helps him extend plays super well. Jennings showed that he has a great foundation to build upon last season, and going into this year it’ll be exciting to see how he’s progressed since.
Rashad Sager-WR
Every QB needs a reliable target, and that is exactly what Rashad Sager provides for this offense. Standing at 6’4 200, Sager’s size separates him from opposing defenders greatly, and that paired with his speed makes him a dangerous threat all across the field. If he’s sent on a slant or screen, he has great YAC ability to take those routine short passes the distance, and if he’s sent downfield, he uses his size and long arms to high point the ball to make some impressive catches. Rashad Sager has a TON of promise, and will definitely be a focal point of Jackson-Olin’s passing attack.
Lamarius Byrd-WR
Lamarius Byrd is another talented pass catcher with a lot of experience under his belt, which will be instrumental as he heads into his senior season. Byrd plays with a ton of strength and physicality, and both benefit him greatly. Tackling a guy of his size and strength is incredibly difficult, and with his ability to stretch the field and consistently catch the ball, it makes him quite the weapon for his offense. With him and Rashad Sager as two of their top targets Jackson-Olin is fielding two big talented senior WRs this year, which should definitely give them the upper hand on opposing secondaries.
DEFENSE
Jackson Olin has a LOADED defense heading into this season, this unit has the potential to be one of the best defenses in both the 6A and state as a whole, with tons of talent found in their defensive front.
Eric Muse Eric Muse 6'0" | 195 lbs | LB Jackson-Olin | 2023 State AL -LB
Eric Muse Eric Muse 6'0" | 195 lbs | LB Jackson-Olin | 2023 State AL is a tackling machine that can defend against both the run and passing attack really well, the middle of the field is completely terrorized by Muse’s speed, strength, reaction time, and coverage abilities. Muse has the center of the field on lock, and with him and Jackson-Olin’s defensive line, it’s hard to believe that anyone will be able to successfully run the ball against them. Currently, Muse lists offers from Oregon, Auburn, Tennessee, and many other programs.
Ty’quarius Perry Ty’quarius Perry 6'3" | 280 lbs | DL Jackson-Olin | 2023 State AL -DL
Ty’quarius Perry Ty’quarius Perry 6'3" | 280 lbs | DL Jackson-Olin | 2023 State AL is one of those defensive linemen, and man does this guy dominate the line of scrimmage. Perry is shockingly quick for his size and has the motor and pursuit to cause chaos in the backfield, the quickness he has in both his hands and feet allow him to almost immediately touch the quarterback post-snap. Often he is found just flying around the field to bring down the ballcarrier-his effort to make tackles is outstanding. Currently, Perry lists offers from Georgia Tech, Coastal Carolina, Middle Tennessee, and more.
Jourdin Crawford Jourdin Crawford 6'3" | 290 lbs | DL Parker | 2025 State AL -DL
Jourdin Crawford Jourdin Crawford 6'3" | 290 lbs | DL Parker | 2025 State AL had a phenomenal freshman season last fall and looks like he could end up as a top DL recruit in the national 2025 class. Crawford is unstoppable whether he’s playing against both the run and pass, his burst and power off of the line of scrimmage allow him to penetrate into the backfield to take down the ball carrier. Crawford Currently, Crawford lists offers from Michigan, Oklahoma, and Georgia Tech among others, but will absolutely be adding more over the next three years.
Jonathan Allen-DL
Jonathan Allen is yet another explosive playmaker on Jackson-Olin’s defensive front, and he is pretty much unblockable off of the edge. Allen has a variety of pass rush moves off of the edge that help him make a lot of plays, often making offensive tackles look silly by leaving them in the dust. Last fall Allen proved that with his big season, on the stat sheet he totaled up 55 tackles (7 for loss), 7 sacks, and one forced fumble and touchdown. Currently, Allen lists offers from Arkansas State, Western Kentucky, and Alcorn State, among many others.
Overall, with the way Jackson-Olin’s roster is constructed, they will definitely be a to keep track of this fall!
