In the state of Texas, their are many big dogs who have a huge impact on their team as well as the young athletes who are underrated. With that being said, we have a list of some more impact players that are true game changers in the city of San Antonio, Austin and its surrounding cities. Their gameplay on the field, and their impact on football games are very noticeable. Without these young men on the field, their teams are impacted tremendously in terms of overall gameplay. Let’s take a look at some of the best impact players in San Antonio and Austin! [player_tooltip player_id="241713" first="Quinten" last="Joyner"]- 5’10 190Ibs/RB/ Manor High School Analysis: [player_tooltip player_id="241713" first="Quinten" last="Joyner"] is a game changer for the Manor High School football team. He racked up 2,120 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns last year! This young man is also a four star recruit and will also be playing on Saturdays at the collegiate level! When this young man is on the field, he helps his team put points on the board every time he touches the ball. He possesses good ball carry vision, explosive out the backfield, and does an excellent job at breaking tackles. If you want to win ball games, put this man in the game immediately! [player_tooltip player_id="259524" first="Princewill" last="Umanmielen"]- 6’4 225Ibs/OLB/ Manor High School Analysis: Prince Umanmielen is a player that has a huge impact on defense. Even though he is not the fastest, this four star recruit wrecks havoc for opponents on offense by causing turnovers, frequently obtaining tackles for losses, shedding blocks with ease, and playing very physical on defense. Mr. Umanmielen has the perfect size for an outside linebacker which allows him to become an efficient edge rusher causing tremendous pressure on the quarterback each time he lines up on the edge. When he is on the field, he has the ability to swing the momentum of the game with his gameplay and his teammates follow! He currently holds offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Florida, Houston, and Kansas. Be on the lookout for this young man in the future. Daemian Wimberly- 6’5 250Ibs/DE,DT,TE/ Vandegrift High School Analysis: Daemian’s Wimberly’s versatility makes him a very dangerous weapon on defense. He is a three star recruit and he has the ability to make big time plays in big time moments. With his size and skill set, he disrupts the pocket like none other, and if you do not block him properly, he and his teammates will be looking to feast on you! He plays with a tremendous motor and has excellent technique in terms of keeping his pad level low and using his hands to shed blocks, driving offensive linemen backwards with ease. If he is not in the rotation on defense, this proposes a huge weakness on the defensive front. With him on the field, the team’s chemistry increases and everything flows in sync defensively with the guys he is also playing on the gridiron with! Cameron "The Chef" Cook- 5’10 180Ibs/RB/ Stony Point High School Analysis: Talk about a true playmaker! [player_tooltip player_id="241715" first="Cameron" last="Cook"] can make plays like no other on the gridiron and it shows. He can take it to the house every time he touches the ball. He possesses very good speed, explosion, strength, ball carry vision, you name it all! With his aggressive style of play, and high motor on the field, he is able to take his offense to a new level if needed in big time games as well as small games. When you watch this young man play, you can tell that the energy of the team increases when he is on the field! Being a four star recruit in the greater Austin area, he has made a name for himself as well. He is a true vocal point for the Stony Point football team and a lot of their offense is successful because of him. [player_tooltip player_id="259526" first="Johnny" last="Bowens"]- 6’5 245Ibs/DE/ Converse Judson High School Analysis: [player_tooltip player_id="259526" first="Johnny" last="Bowens"] will be playing ball at the next level at Texas A&M being a four star recruit, but that is not the reason I have him on this list. This young man is needed on the defensive front for the Converse Judson football team! On the defensive side of the ball, this man alone causes destruction on opponents whether he is pursuing the running back, quarterback, or even taking on offensive linemen. He displays an excellent skill set when on the gridiron and plays with keen awareness which separates regular players and great players. Mr. Bowens does a great job at utilizing spin moves to get off of blocks and hustles hard every single play and down. Also, he uses his hands and long arms to shed blocks which allows him to wreak havoc in the pocket creating sacks! He is very explosive off of the snap count and is an extremely physical and great tackler in the trenches, as well as in the open field.
