Josiah Buford (2023) | 6’3 185 SS | Swartz Creek
Buford is an intriguing prospect, at 6’3, 185 pounds, and with a 6’10 wingspan, Josiah Buford looks great on paper and was able to put together a very productive junior season. Extremely physical for a defensive back, Buford is athletic enough to play multiple roles for a defense. I would look for Josiah Buford and Swartz Creek football to make a run at the state playoffs in 2022.
Jaiden Bolden (2023) | 6’0 170 CB | Rochester High
The 2x OAA All-League and All-North honorable mention Jaiden Bolden is a star in the defensive backfield for Rochester High. Bolden saw time on both sides of the ball in his junior season where his next-level speed and athleticism are on display. On defense, Bolden tackles well and shows good instincts in both run and pass coverage. His most recent college offer came from Eastern Kentucky University, and I would expect the offers to start to pile up for Bolden throughout the 2022 season.
Torrence Green (2023) | 5’11 175 CB | Ann Arbor Huron
In his junior season, Torrence Green established himself in the Ann Arbor Huron defensive backfield with his next-level speed and ball skills. In his junior season, Torrence Green had 5 interceptions, one for a touchdown. He saw time on offense as well where he caught balls at WR. He does well in press coverage and can run and cover. Look for Torrence Green and the Ann Arbor Huron football team to make some noise in the 2022 season.
Jack Davis (2023) | 6’1 190 FS | Novi Catholic Center
Jack Davis plays at the highest level in the state and for one of the best teams in the state. The starting FS was able to put together a very productive junior season. Jack Davis is a playmaker for the Shamrock defense with good size, speed, and good instincts. Look for Jack Davis and the Novi Catholic Central Shamrocks to make another deep playoff run in the 2022 season.
Devon Buskin Devon Buskin 6'0" | 160 lbs | DB Southfield | 2023 State MI Jr (2023) | 6’1 180 SS | Southfield A&T
One of the more physical defensive backs, Buskin Jr is a good-sized athlete who saw time at safety for division 1, Southfield A&T. Buskin is a downhill player who tackles well and has good speed. He competes at the highest level of football in the state and plays against some of the best competition in the state. Look for Buskin Jr and Southfield A&T to make a run at the playoffs in 2022.
Corey Webb (2023) | 5’9 160 CB | Detroit Martin Luther King
Webb is a defensive back for the 2021 state champions, Detroit Martin Luther King. In his junior season, Webb saw substantial time in the defensive backfield for an MLK team that played one of the toughest strengths of schedules in the state. We’re talking about a starting defensive back for the best team in the state who also competes against the best competition in the state. Corey Webb is a cornerback at the next level.
