Continue ReadingThe Prep Redzone Prospect Tour took aim at the state of Texas, which brought out some top flight talent from around the state. Each player set out to improve their stock, compete in combine testing, get evaluated by scouts and receive expert coaching from college coaches. The running back position has evolved into a multi purpose and versatile position that requires a dynamic playmaker. Today we highlight the running back standouts at the Prep Redzone Prospect Tour:Texas.
Chad Gasper Chad Gasper 6'0" | 195 lbs | RB Katy Jordan | 2025 State TX (RB) C/O 2025
5’11 185
Katy Jordan High School
Gasper is the total package of speed, elite athleticism, he has a sudden burst, has great hip flexibility and possesses the ability to cut back against the grain without losing acceleration. Gasper has great balance, moves smooth and under control and doesn’t waste his steps. Chad is dangerous in the open field, has impressive ball skills, is a gifted pass catcher with soft hands, tracks the ball well, high points the ball in flight which makes him a lethal weapon out of the backfield. During 1v1 drills, on several occasions, Chad showed off his explosiveness by winning on the jump ball and showing his acceleration to blow past defenders. Chad used his compact, strong build to ward off any defender who attempted to redirect his routes during 1v1 pass coverage. Gasper put on a dominate performance at the Prospect Tour: Texas which lead to him being selected as the Running Back MVP. Chad is a multi-sport athlete who also patrols centerfield for the Katy Jordan baseball team. Gasper is ranked as the #61 overall player in the class of 2025 in the PRZ Texas Rankings and the #10 running back. Expect Gasper to be a key cog in the Katy Jordan Warrior offense in 2022.

Noah Long Noah Long 5'10" | 175 lbs | RB Liberty Hill | 2024 State TX (RB) C/O 2024
5’10 177
Liberty Hill High School
Long was impressive from the start. Noah is shifty in space, has great footwork , sinks his hips in and out of his cuts and has the speed to get north and south quickly. Long’s legs and trunk are well put together, which allows him to run with power as I witnessed during film study from his Liberty Hill 2021 season tape. Long rushed for 2008 yards with 29 rushing touchdowns, while averaging 8.6 yards per carry. Noah displayed the wiggle to get free from defenders during 1v1 drills vs linebackers in space and consistently won during the passing period showing impressive hands for a running back who plays in a run oriented offense. Long is ranked #106 overall in the PRZ Rankings in Texas and is the #5 ranked running back in the class of 2024. As the sophomore continues to build his resume, look for his stock to rise making him an attractive running back recruit.

Toliver Kinnon (RB) C/O 2024
5’9 170
Steele High School
Kinnon is a big body back, who moves well, has good forward lean, displayed good balance, has a high knee running style and runs with authority. Toliver has good burst, has the ability to make defenders miss and ran several good routes during the passing session 1v1s. As Kinnon continues to mature, the sophomore has the big frame to be a force on Friday nights. At times Toliver showed flashes of becoming a gamebreaker and competed on every drill with outstanding effort. Kinnon hasn’t reached his ceiling and there is no doubt he is a prospect to keep an eye on as he continues to develop.

Stefan Stennett (RB) C/O 2024
5’7 150
Wimberley High School
Stennett is a high stepper with quick feet, has good change of direction, keeps his weight over his toes and has deceptive speed. After watching a few clips from Stefan’s fall 2021 tape, he is a slasher who makes cuts without losing acceleration, reads his blocks well and when he sees paydirt he gets vertical quickly. Stennett was impressive during the passing session showing the ability to shake off defenders and make several contested catches. As the young runner continues to make improvements in his game, look for the Wimberley standout to make some noise down in Central Texas.

Darien Choice (RB) C/O 2025
5’6 160
Hutto High School
Choice has a low center of gravity, with a compact frame and has good speed. Darien excelled during the running back cone drills showing off the ability to make sharp cuts and change direction quickly in a small spaces. Choice has several good reps during RBs vs LBs drill and was able to make defenders miss. Darien has soft hands, is a hands catcher and was able to get open during the passing session to make a couple of catches in traffic. His older brother Gary also had a stellar day at the Prospect Tour and as Choice matures look for the young Hutto runner to continue trend in the right direction
