What the high school football players took in at the Paradise Sports Complex was all part of the plan that the Prep Redzone Showcase aimed to accomplish.
Drill after drill, Klacik taught some things that many of those on hand never learned before, and by the end of the event, they left with something they didn’t come with.
For prospects such as Fort Myers Bishop Verot Class of 2024 standout Edward Nolan, it was a chance to go against some elite defensive linemen, and he was prepared. The coaches singled him out as a future talent to keep an eye on.
“I like that young man, Klacik said. “He has a ways to go, but he showed me he’s willing to learn.”
Nolan wasn’t the only offensive lineman who benefitted on Sunday. There were some others who learned and worked very hard.
CLASS OF 2023
Deegan Blasko, Maitland Orangewood Christian. Very agile and tough prospect from a smaller school. But his footwork and desire to play the game stood out. Another rising senior who picked up some valuable instruction that he will use during the spring and into the 2022 season.

Victor Pino, OL, Miami Palmetto. This is one of those football players who plays with a mean streak and will not give in. Solid footwork and impressive upper body strength. Thrives on competition, and playing in Miami-Dade County, he gets it. Will be very fun to watch over the next few months.

CLASS OF 2024
Trenton Hayes Trenton Hayes 6'3" | 260 lbs | OL Nature Coast Tech | 2024 FL , Brooksville Nature Coast Tech. One of the more versatile performers who plays more than one line position. A truly agile prospect who did extremely well in drills as well as the 1-on-1 competition, and the coaches let him know. One of the top linemen on hand.

Edward Nolan, Fort Myers Bishop Verot. What’s not to like about this young man. Well coached, always willing to learn and that certain toughness that is tough to teach. As mentioned, he drew praise from a college coach who was impressed with his technique and how he listened.

Brett Rossano, Naples First Baptist. When you come to an event the objective is to learn and pick up valuable pointers that you had no idea about before. This is a talented young man who had that opportunity to learn and the coaches certainly showed him plenty during the drills and the 1-on-1 competition. His team was among the best in southwest Florida a year ago.
2025
Jake Boydston, OL, Sarasota Cardinal Mooney. When you are attending an event at the end of your first year in high school, you have more confidence and improving strength. Watching him on Sunday, you can someone who has a bright future. Sure, there are things that need to be worked on, but time is on his side – and as he attends more and more showcases, and works hard during the course of the year to get bigger and stronger – this is indeed a potential talent.
Taylor Richardson, OL, Gainesville. Was there a harder worker than this on Sunday? Probably not. The fact that he’s only a freshman (rising sophomore) should tell you volumes about what this young man brings to the table. Took on everyone at the showcase, and if they would have let him, he would have jumped in on every rep. Strong, low center of gravity and a work ethic that is second to none. This gifted young man did not drive nearly six hours to blend in!
