His size drew comments alone, when they found out he was only a sophomore, eyebrows began to raise. This is my second time seeing Duncan perform in person this offseason and he’s showing new skills and abilities that really help us get a grasp of what type of player he is. At first I thought he was just a big body but this weekend his athleticism shined through. He was a frequent target on offense making catches all over the field. He had an impressive diving TD catch through traffic that showed his body control and awareness. He’s really developing into an intriguing prospect, 2022 season will be an eye opener for scouts. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="313740" first="Elijah" last="Reid"] "EJ"</p> <p>EJ was very impressive in coverage, recording a hand full of clutch INT’s throughout the day. EJ’s speed caught my attention on offense, the kid can really move, he turned a short swing route into a long TD run. Out of all of the talented players on this team, he may have the best ball skills. He's sure handed and has a lot of spring in his step. Right now he is faster than he is quick but I expect that to change as he puts on some muscle and gains more power over the next 3 years. He played varsity as a freshmen and contributed as a the kick/punt return specialist and at receiver. He was named first team all-district DB, first team all-region DB, and second team All-state DB. Just last month he landed three D1 offers from Ohio, Miami of Ohio, and Eastern Illinois. His deep ball coverage is his specialty, he stays in phase with the receivers and attacks the ball in the air, not the receiver. Offensively he was used out of the backfield and slot for the most part. He runs his routes and catches passes in comfort and with ease. He was on the receiving end of the set up and short but important plays, he racked up first down after first down along the sidelines. Defensively he is an all around player when it comes to pass coverage. He played safety , and nickle during the event and really showed some good range in zone coverage. If there's a camp, combine or scouting event in the DMV you can bet that you'll hear this name. Jachai is consistent in his performance as a man-to-man coverage threat. His technique and footwork remain sound. This freshmen cornerback is going to hit the ground at full sprint when August comes around.
