With plenty of peach-state prospects already having impressive D1 offers, we’re seeing multiple prospects go ahead and make their college commitment. In Georgia, we recently saw prospects from the 2022, 2023, and 2024 class make a big decision on their future.
Here are a few prospects who made their college commitments recently…
Michael Daugherty Michael Daugherty 6'0" | 175 lbs | DB Grayson | 2023 State GA – Defensive Back – Committed to LSU
The LSU Tigers went into Gwinnett County and landed a commitment from one of the top overall defensive backs in the peach state. I long, athletic safety who can cover, Daugherty is a multi-year starter at powerhouse Grayson and will finish off a fantastic career in 2022. The 6-foot-2 180-pounder shows tremendous technique, quick feet, ball skills, and enough length for the position. He closes on the ball well and can handle bigger receivers and tight ends in coverage down the field. He’s excellent against the run, dissecting plays from the start. He sneaks into the backfield with ease and does a good job of making plays in the backfield. He’s a versatile defensive back who can play safety, cover the slot, or help on the outside. He’s a natural at the position with strong instincts to go along with his ball skills and playmaking ability. As a junior last fall, the future LSU Tiger made 91 tackles, 15.5 TFLs, four sacks, and broke up six passes in coverage. Now, he’s slated to play for “DBU” at the next level.

Terrance Love Terrance Love 6'2" | 195 lbs | DB Langston Hughes | 2023 State GA – Safety – Committed to Auburn
Another big-time safety prospect is headed to the SEC. Love, one of the top 2023 safety prospects across the state out of Fairburn, is an imposing defender with D1 size at 6-foot-3 195-pounds. He knows how to cover in the back end, but what he does best is strike the ball carrier. He’s one of the hardest-hitting and best tacklers in the state, and QBs are constantly looking for him before each play. He’s got a muscular frame, he’s physical, loves contact, and can intimidate receivers who try to come over the middle. As a receiver, Love has caught 28 passes for 385 yards and 5 touchdowns. He’s made 58 tackles on defense and intercepted three passes as well. His style of play should fit right in at Auburn.

Sam Williams – Defensive Line – Committed to Wake Forest
One of the better defensive line prospects in West Georgia, the Callaway standout from Hogansville committed to Wake Forest recently over Colorado, West Virginia, among others. He’s a strong defender with plenty of size at 6-foot-3 260-pounds with some versatility to his game. He’s able to line up on the edge but can be moved inside as well. He’s an excellent run defender and uses his hands well to get off blocks. He does his job each and every play, and his effort and productivity could lead to possible early playing time in Winston Salem in 2023. Overall, he’s a stout linemen who does the little things correctly. He’s so tough to block, and he does a great job of closing running lanes. He’s strong, physical, and will be a force once again as a senior in 2022.
