GameChangers at the Prep Redzone Carolinas Showcase

There was a lot of expectation and interest leading up to the first Prep Redzone Showcase in the Carolinas. There were over 100 players that participated in the Showcase. There were a lot of talented players on display for the event. The players listed performances caught my attention and are worthy of recognition.
Noah Shaw Noah Shaw 6'1" | 195 lbs | LB Asheville | 2024 State NC , LB, 6’2″ 190, Asheville HS. Noah played multiple positions during the past season. Linebacker is a natural position for him. He is a very athletic player who is a combination of speed and agility. Noah had an impressive performance in the 40-yard run and the broad jump during the testing phase of the showcase. He has fluid hip movement and can change directions quickly. The 2024 prospect is a solid D1 prospect and will benefit from bulking up to compete on the collegiate level.
Tyrek Robinson Tyrek Robinson 5'11" | 165 lbs | DB Vance County Early College | 2025 NC , DB, 5’11″ 165, Vance Co. HS. Tyrek is a talented young player with polished skills. He displayed solid man-coverage skills in the one-on-one drills. Tyrek blankets the receiver and makes it difficult to complete a catch against him. I have viewed a lot of his film and he makes it look effortless in his defensive coverage. He has long arms and good use of hands and footwork in the agility drills. The 2025 prospect has a D1 skillset and is amongst the top defensive backs in his class.
Mason Fortune Mason Fortune 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB Millbrook | 2024 State NC , QB, 6’2″ 190, Millbrook HS. Mason put up big numbers during the past season. He delivered long-range passes on target during the drills on Saturday. He has a strong arm, good footwork, and throwing motion. Mason impressed during the drills with his throwing accuracy and throwing while on the run. I have watched a lot of his film and in person on the sideline during the past season. The 2024 prospect continues to impress and has the D1 skillset to succeed at the next level.
Johnathan Montague Jr. Johnathan Montague Jr. 6'2" | 205 lbs | QB Clayton | 2024 State NC , QB, 6’1″ 190, Knightdale HS. Johnathan has benefitted from off-season training and the results were on display during the showcase. There has been a great improvement in his skillset from the past season to present. Johnathan’s throwing motion is fluid and quick with accuracy on his passes. He displayed good footwork and ability to throw while on the run. The 2024 prospect is amongst the top quarterbacks in his class.
Ricky Swindell Ricky Swindell 6'3" | 310 lbs | DL Scotland Co. | 2023 State NC , DL, 6’3″ 310, Scotland Co. HS. Ricky is a big defensive lineman who can move. He is a combination speed, power, and agility. Ricky had impressive performances while competing in the drills during the testing phase of the event. He displayed quickness along with good footwork and agility to cover ground quickly. Ricky Swindell Ricky Swindell 6'3" | 310 lbs | DL Scotland Co. | 2023 State NC ’s participation in Summer Prospect Camps will generate recruiting interest for the 2023 prospect.
Tyler McMullen Tyler McMullen 6'3" | 365 lbs | OL Lee Co. | 2023 State NC , OL, 6’3″ 365, Lee Co. HS. Tyler is a big offensive lineman who can move. He displayed good footwork and agility for a player of his size. Tyler was able to change direction with quickness while competing in the drills during the testing phase of the event. Tyler McMullen Tyler McMullen 6'3" | 365 lbs | OL Lee Co. | 2023 State NC ’s participation in Summer Prospect Camps will generate recruiting interest for the 2023 prospect.
Riley Staton Riley Staton 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Gaffney | 2024 State SC , QB, 6’3″ 185, Gray Collegiate Academy, South Carolina. Riley has a great work ethic and has been relentless with his off-season training. The results of the hard work were on display at the event on Saturday. He displayed good footwork and a fluid throwing motion on his passes. Riley slings his passes with power and on target with good accuracy. He displayed good mobility and agility in the drills during the testing phase of the event. The 2024 prospect has a D1 skillset and is amongst the top quarterbacks in his class.
