Courser has good instincts to quickly diagnose where the play is going. Courser also has the ability to blitz off the edge. He has great short-area quickness and can fire off the line of scrimmage in a hurry. Brayden Courser Brayden Courser 6'1" | 215 lbs | LB Detroit Catholic Central | 2023 State MI not only effectively tackles opposing ball carriers he also has the ability to deliver big hits. Linebackers as talented as Courser are a premium and their ability to run sideline to sideline and prevent big plays is critical. Courser will be a key player on the Catholic Central defense once again in 2022.
#52 Shaun Schanick Shaun Schanick 6'2" | 230 lbs | LB Swartz Creek | 2023 MI | Swartz Creek | 2023 | Hudl
Schanick has very good lateral movements. He does a good job of working through traffic and making tackles. Schanick plays physical and is not afraid to fly up and make hits. Schanick has good play strength and can quickly shed defenders. Schanick has good size at 6-1, 210 lbs. I expect Schanick to be a tackling machine once again for Swartz Creek next season.
#44 Jimmy Taylor | Carman-Ainsworth | 2023 | Hudl
Taylor has the ability to play the middle linebacker position and also the ability to play out on the edge. He has good strength and is a very good wrap-up tackler. He seems to always be around the football and involved in almost every tackle. Taylor has tremendous balance and lower body strength and does not let blockers move him. Taylor has a strong muscular build at 5-10 225 lbs. I love that Taylor is not afraid to take on the opposing team’s full-backs. Carman-Ainsworth should be excited to have him back next year.
#43 Klement Krasinqi | Chippewa Valley | 2023 | Hudl
Krasinqi has a motor that is always running. He has the speed and acceleration to run down ball carriers anywhere on the field. He uses his upper body strength well to fight off blocks. Krasinqi was outstanding at running back as well last year for Chippewa Valley. He was a physical, tough runner who was never afraid to put his head down and pick up extra yardage. Klement Krasinqi should play a big role in the success of the Chippewa Valley football team next year.
#5 Luke Allen Luke Allen 6'0" | 195 lbs | LB Port Huron | 2023 MI | Port Huron | 2023 | Hudl
Allen is great at putting his foot in the ground and then accelerating to go make tackles. Allen has tremendous play speed and is always flying around the field looking to make plays. He is a physical tackler and uses all his strength to drive opposing ball carriers to the ground. Allen has the ability to diagnose where the run play is going and then shoot the gap to make a tackle for loss. This is fun to watch and can really be demoralizing for opposing offenses. Allen does a great job wrapping up every time he makes a tackle. Allen is so quick to shoot into the backfield that he has the capability to fly past teams opposing fullbacks and tackle the running back. This was very impressive to see and there are not a lot of high school linebackers that have the athleticism to do that. Allen also plays on the offensive side at the tight end position. I look forward to seeing him play next year.
