Brayden McCoon Brayden McCoon 6'3" | 180 lbs | QB Traverse City Central | 2024 State MI – QB – Traverse City Central – HUDL
The 2022 Traverse City Central team will be much different than their 2021 squad. Starting off, the Trojans will have a new QB at the helm with Brayden McCoon Brayden McCoon 6'3" | 180 lbs | QB Traverse City Central | 2024 State MI , replacing Joshua Burnham Joshua Burnham 6'3" | 205 lbs | LB Traverse City Central | 2022 State MI . It will be a certain change of pace, as Burnham was primarily a linebacker, with being an insane bruiser at QB.
McCoon offers a more traditional playstyle at QB, and I’d argue that the Trojan offense will be able to get more creative. If you watch Brayden’s film, you can see him constantly rolling out and delivering accurate throws from both sides of the field. I haven’t seen much of McCoon during the offseason (because he plays multiple sports), but I am very optimistic about his transition to full-time Varsity QB.
Quinn Stephens Quinn Stephens 6'0" | 205 lbs | RB Lincoln | 2024 MI – RB – Lincoln – HUDL
I’ve had my eye on Stephens for quite some time, though I honestly have very little information on him. I see very high upside in Stephens, as his game reminds me of David Holloman, a former Auburn Hills Avondale RB now on the Indiana Hoosiers. Quinn flashed elite power and balance during his freshman season, though there are few highlights since that freshman season. If Stephens plays to his potential, we could have a great recruit.
Samuel Lalonde Samuel Lalonde 6'0" | 180 lbs | DL Traverse City Central | 2024 MI – DL – Traverse City Central – HUDL
LaLonde is an interesting player, as he did well at the JV level, sporting great getoff and first step, decent hand moves, along with being a great wrestler, but undersized for NG at 6’1 180lbs. As of now, he’s one of the most well-known sophomores at TC Central, and I’m intrigued to see what he can do.
Donte Dooley Donte Dooley 6'1" | 160 lbs | DB Detroit King | 2024 State MI – DB – Detroit MLK – HUDL
State Champs called Dooley the “next superstar” to come out of Detroit King, and I won’t argue with it. We just saw Sauce Gardner (Detroit MLK Alumni) go to the New York Jets at No. 4 overall, and we all know this program is an absolute powerhouse. There isn’t a ton of film on Dooley yet, especially not him going 1 on 1 against anybody, but I’m confident that he’ll continue to develop into the type of player we’re used to seeing at this program.
Dewayne Dickerson Dewayne Dickerson 6'2" | 175 lbs | DB Detroit King | 2024 State MI – DB – Detroit MLK – HUDL
Another DB (S) from Detroit, I see similar upside in Dickerson as I do Dooley. Dickerson’s instincts are nice, as he reacts fast to the run and gets to his sports quickly in passing situations. So far, he seems like a good tackler with great instincts, and I’m looking forward to seeing a progression of talent from last season to this season.
