The Class of 2024 has a group of QB prospects who have shown in the first of half of their high school careers that they are capable of checking those boxes.

Engineering the Cathedral offense that captured the Class 5A state championship was Danny O’Neil Danny O’Neil 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Cathedral | 2024 State IN . The right-hander showed that he has immense potential in 2021. O’Neil can stand in the pocket and good through the reads, but he can also extend plays, eject the pocket and pick up yards. O’Neil is an outstanding decision-maker. He finds the open receiver and does not force the ball into coverage. O’Neil can drive the ball to the wide side of the field with velocity. He does well running run-pass-option plays. Danny O’Neil Danny O’Neil 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Cathedral | 2024 State IN will be a big part of Cathedral’s hopes of winning another title next season.

Mason Reynolds Mason Reynolds 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB Avon | 2024 State IN paces the Avon offense by making the right throw and keeping the offense moving. Reynolds does a good job of getting the ball out quickly and neutralizing the pass rush. When attempting to throw the ball down the field, Reynolds is capable of standing in the pocket and reading out the play. Last season, Reynolds completed 169/304 passes for just under 2,300 yards. Reynolds posted a 2:1 touchdown to interception ratio, throwing for 22 touchdowns and 11 interceptions last fall. Reynolds added a pair of rushing touchdowns.

Clay McClelland Clay McClelland 6'1" | 170 lbs | QB Charlestown | 2024 State IN is an athletic quarterback who finds a variety of ways to hurt the opposing defense. He has exceptional mobility, allowing him to evade defenders left and right. He can leave pass rushers chasing. While on the move, McClelland keeps his eyes down the field. McClelland can find a little sliver of space and keep the play alive. As a sophomore, Owen Smith Owen Smith 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR LaVille | 2023 State IN laid the foundation for a big junior season. Smith connected on 54 of his 114 pass attempts. He threw for 662 yards, four touchdowns and six interceptions. Smith added one rushing touchdown. Owen Smith Owen Smith 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR LaVille | 2023 State IN showed the capability to put defenses under pressure. Look for him to make strides in 2022.

Lucas Plummer Lucas Plummer 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB LaVille | 2024 State IN has given fans plenty to be excited about heading into next season. Plummer conpleted 46 of 110 passes a season ago. In doing so, he racked up 624 yards through the air to go along with seven touchdowns and two interceptions. Plummer is a credible running threat. He carried the ball 122 times for 459 yards and eight rushing touchdowns last year. Plummer’s contributions extend far beyond the offense. On defense, he is a solid strong safety. Last year, Plummer accumulated 29 total tackles with two tackles-for-loss, one interception and two passes defensed. On special teams, Plummer handles kicking and punting duties. He kicked off on 40 occasions with one touchback and an average of 43.8 yards per boot. Plummer punted 45 times for over 1,500 net punting yards and an average of just under 34 yards per punt. 17 of his punts pinned opponents inside their own 20-yard line. Plummer was solid with placekicking. He converted 16 of 20 extra point attempts and five of his six field goal tries.
