We are taking a look at the rankings Watch List players at each position to highlight the players that drew more attention throughout the season and off season. Today we’ll be taking a look at some true ATH’s making an impact on both sides of the ball.
Marcus Hines Marcus Hines 6'0" | 185 lbs | ATH Loyola Blakefield | 2023 State MDHines is a complete offensive threat, an offensive Swiss army knife playing QB, WR, and LB. He finished the season with 761 passing yards and 175 receiving yards on the offensive side of the ball. On defense he finished with 19 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 1 sack. This offseason Marcus has been getting interests from JMU, Bucknell Univ., Monmouth Univ., and Colgate University.
JeVaughn Sargent JeVaughn Sargent 6'0" | 190 lbs | ATH St. Vincent Pallotti | 2023 State MDJunior Season highlights!! Loyola Blakefield 2021 season. #RDR @TouchdownDons @AnthonyZehyoue https://t.co/egYZramoq3 pic.twitter.com/V78QTRjp4c

Sargent is an option quarterback threat who’s a dangerous ball carrier at any time including on special teams. JeVaughn plays QB, WR, DB, and some PR on special teams. Dynamic player that you can plug in at any skill position. I had the opportunity to see Sargent compete at DB against other ranked players at a private practice/workout. Defensively he is aggressive with his hands and possess make up speed and burst in coverage. So far this offseason Sargent has been on visits to University of Buffalo and Wake Forest.

Kordell Batten Kordell Batten 5'9" | 165 lbs | ATH St. Charles | 2023 State MD
An electrifying player who can expose defenses with his quickness and elusiveness. Batten plays slot receiver, wildcat quarterback, and DB for St. Charles high school. The Spartans really use Batten as a weapon by getting him the ball in space. They utilize him a lot with screens and sweeps, he turns them into chunk plays with no problem. Batten is one of the most dangerous players with the ball in his hands in the SWAC, it’ll be interesting to see how the Spartans use him in this 2022 season.

Kam Reynolds Kam Reynolds 5'9" | 165 lbs | ATH Blair | 2023 State MD
Reynolds is a player who has been on the scene so far this off season, I had the opportunity to see Reynolds in person at the Lab 7v7 Showcase, Gameday Recruits Showcase, and multiple 7on7 events. Kam plays DB and RB, he has emerged as one of the gems in the watch list and he will be joining a stable of talent at Blair high school with Kendall Anderson, Mihkail Seiken, Jamal Worrell, Arnauld Tegom Arnauld Tegom 6'1" | 235 lbs | LB Blair | 2023 State MD , and Aven Williams Aven Williams 5'10" | 195 lbs | WR Blair | 2023 MD . Kam is an impact player defensively forcing turnovers, making tackles for a loss making his presences felt. He plays with an intensity, it’s exciting to see him fly around. Offensively Reynolds is a shifty back with homerun speed to take it the distance.

Tavin Willis Tavin Willis 5'11" | 180 lbs | ATH Fort Hill | 2023 State MD2021 Season Highlights Willis Hudl Highlights
Willis is already ranked currently as the #2 ATH in the state but is very under recruited. Willis has competed and played well at the biggest events in the nation UA in 2020 and this past National Combine in Dallas a few months ago. Willis led Fort Hill to their 8th state championship as a leader on offense and defense at a DB and RB; he played some LB as a freshmen and sophomore. This offseason he’s been dominating on the track, winning 5 straight 100-meter dash races and different meets. So far, he’s been on a visit to Navy and had a visit to Maryland yesterday 4/29. He possesses the size speed and talent to produce at the next level, we’ll keep an eye on this prospect to see what school snatches him off the recruiting boards.
