UA All-American Camp Series: Sleepers On The Rise
March 26th-27th the Under Armor Camp Series will be evaluating some of the biggest names in the state as they compete head-to-head. Some of the biggest names in football at the college and NFL level have come through the UA Camp Series and All-American game. Today we will be taking a look at some smaller name athletes who are expected to make some noise amongst the goliaths at the camp.
Shajuan Rice

Rice
6'3" | 175 lbs | DB
Our Lady of Mt. Carmel | 2023
State
MD
Rice is a long rangy DB with great ball skills that plays with intensity. Rice was a key part in Mt. Carmel's championship run, being an impact player on offense and defense. Defensively he is aggressive and physical in press coverage while still having deceptional speed with his long strides to keep up with quickest receivers. He has long arms that add to his coverage radius and really help him reach in and swat passes away. Offensively he is a deep ball threat, using his speed, height, and vertical as weapons. Rice is fearless and chases the best competition, if he doesn't get the matchup, he'll abuse lesser competition until he gets his opportunity. I absolutely love that mentality in a DB.
Chase Wilkens

St. Francis Academy | 2023
State
MD
Wilkens is a class of 2023 Transfer from Mt. Saint Joseph to national powerhouse St. Frances Academy out of Baltimore, Maryland. He previously played receiver but will be filling the role at Tight End for the panthers. During the short off-season so far, Wilkens has put on 15+ pounds, he stands at 6’5 245 lbs. He still carries his receiver skill set with impressive footwork and route running for a guy his size. Chase went from playing quarterback as a freshman, to receiver as a sophomore and after having a few conversations in person with Wilkens he has a great grasp on reading defenses and finding the weak spots in the zone. Last off-season during the Battle: Team Flex 7on7 Tournament he called out defensive coverages pre-snap and at the snap of the ball which is a skill that sets him apart as a receiving weapon. To top it off Wilkens holds a 4.04 GPA. Expect Wilkens to really gain some attention after the UA Camp Series. So far this off-season he's visited the University of Maryland and has a visit at Temple University this week.

Savan Briggs
Offers: Robert Morris University
Briggs is a 2023 QB at Quince Orchard High School, hold a 3.64 GPA and stands at 6’2 185lbs. Savan lead the Cougars to an undefeated season and won the 2022 4A State Championship over state powerhouse Henry A. Wise. Over the 2022 season Savan threw for 1200 yards, 20 touchdowns with only 2 interceptions. Briggs in depth season stats are 77-113 Att. 68.1% completion rating, and a 132 QBR. Briggs picks defenses apart and is another QBLab QB emerging at the top statistically. I had the opportunity to see Briggs throw and compete in some accuracy drills at the QBLab Showcase earlier this off-season. He and fellow QB Kendal Anderson where amongst the few that were able to complete the accuracy net drill. Excited to see how he matches up against the big names in northeastern region.
Ryan Manning

Manning
5'10" | 170 lbs | WR
St. Frances | 2023
State
MD
Manning hit the scene blazing late last season and hasn't slowed down since. If you don't know this kids name yet I can almost guarantee you will after this weekend. I got my first look at Manning in person last season at Great American Rivalry Series: Bowie vs Elanor Roosevelt . He absolutely torched defenders with pure speed and crafty routes. Mannings recruiting began at an easy pace after the conclusion of the season with offers from Alabama A&M and hometown Towson University. After transferring to national powerhouse St. Francis Academy his recruiting exploded, gaining 8 more offers from D1 schools. Keep an eye out for this speedster, you'll find him flying down the sidelines.

Nino Marzullo
Nino Marzullo, a young (2024) promising prospect who just transferred from WCAC power Good Counsel to 4A defending champ Quince Orchard HS. Nino is very polished in his mechanics and has been lighting it up in this short off-season. So far, he's competed at Pylon (NJ) and Won the Offense-Defense C1N 7on7 championship in Virginia Beach. Marzullo is another QB who has been trained and coached by some of the best in the state so seeing him in action with the top of the food chain will be interesting. Quince Orchard is very dangerous with their 2 QB's, keep them on your radar.
