Some of the best players in the area were at the event and it was difficult to get a good look at every player. Here are the defensive linemen who stood out to me.
Levar Talley Levar Talley 6'3" | 215 lbs | LB Santa Margarita Catholic | 2024 State CA , Santa Margarita – Talley is more of an outside backer than a defensive lineman but he was listed as a lineman Sunday. He is an excellent edge rusher who is more athletic than most defensive ends. He has put on some size since I saw him in the fall and the strength helped him in the one-on-one period. Florida State, Georgia, USC and Louisville among others have offered him.
Tiumalu Afalava Tiumalu Afalava 6'3" | 250 lbs | DL Bishop Amat | 2023 State CA , Bishop Amat – Afalava is lengthy at 6-foot-5 and looked excellent in the agility drills. He carries his 250 pound frame well and has a good arsenal of power and speed pass rush moves. Afalava has offers from Nevada, Utah State and Arizona State.
Marquise Jones Marquise Jones 6'2" | 260 lbs | DL San Joaquin Memorial | 2023 State CA Jr., San Joaquin Memorial – Jones wasn’t the biggest defensive lineman at the camp but he was able to hang with the bigger offensive linemen during the one-on-one period. He works best with his power pass rush moves and when he uses his club move it is very effective. He was named one of the defensive lineman MVPs. Utah State and Nevada have offered him.

Sua Lefotu Sua Lefotu 6'5" | 290 lbs | DL St. John Bosco | 2023 State CA , St. John Bosco – Lefotu carries his 305 pound frame well and moves better than most of the defensive lineman at the camp. He looked great in the agility drills and he looked good in the one-on-ones after a strong showing at the Giant Skillz National Showcase two weeks ago. Michigan State and Nevada have offered him.

Jaeden Moore Jaeden Moore 6'4" | 230 lbs | DL Central Valley Christian | 2023 State CA , Central Valley Christian – Moore was named one of the defensive line MVPs of the camp and he stood out with his length and athleticism. He is every bit of 6-foot-4 and 230 pounds and is a basketball player as well. He has fast feet and tree trunks for legs. He gains so much ground with his first two steps as a pass rusher and has quick hands to deflect the offensive lineman’s hands and gain leverage. I thought he was the best defensive lineman of the day and others agreed. He has many offers with Washington joining the club last week.

Collins Acheampong, Fairmont Prep – Acheampong was the talk of the early portion of the camp. He is at least 6-foot-6, could jump high and run fast. He is a basketball player at Fairmont Prep, a school that no longer has a football program and he hasn’t played football since his freshman year. He is very raw and needs work on his pass rushing moves, but he has all the tools college coaches love and they all think they can develop him. He has offers from USC, UCLA and Oregon among others.
