It’s an opportunity for the top athletes from both states to compete against one another. In this article, we will take a look at a few Running Backs who are on the Watch List for the 2022 season.
Henry Bennett Henry Bennett 5'9" | 185 lbs | RB North Palm Beach Benjamin | 2023 FL | 5″10’’ 195 lbs | Cardinal Newman High School | Class of 2023
Bennett has great hands coming out of the backfield, great speed to pull away from opposing defenders, and the tenacity to avoid going down after his opponent makes first contact. He was ran for 798 all purpose yards, averaged 6.3 yards per rush, and scored 8 touchdowns last season. He also led Newman to a 9-4 record and the 3rd round of the State Playoffs before losing to eventual State Champion Chaminade Madonna.
Jenorris Wilcher | 5’10’’ 160 lbs | Glades Day School | Class of 2024
Wilcher was named to the 2nd Team All County team and was also a nominee for Breakout Player Of The Year. He ran for 601 yards, averaged 8.3 yards per carry, had 303 receiving yards, and averaged 21.6 yards a catch on offense. He also was a solid contributor on defense with 86 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 interceptions. Wilcher was very instrumental in Glades Day’s successful season. They finished with a 9-2 record and advanced to the 2nd round of the State Playoffs before losing to the State Runner Up Champagnat Catholic.
Guerschom Guerrier |6’1’’ 205 lbs | Lely High School | Class of 2023
Guerrier is a bruising back that has the ability to run over defenders or run past them. He is someone that opposing defenses have had to game plan for the past 2 seasons. He has a breakout year on varsity last season, as a sophmore, and was named to the All Conference team this year for the 2nd time in a row. He ran for 1,112 yards and 10 touchdowns in only 9 games. The Lely Running Back is also a standout athlete on the track and is currently ranked 8th in the state in the triple jump.
Mark Fletcher Mark Fletcher 6'1" | 225 lbs | RB Plantation American Heritage | 2023 State FL | 6’2’’ 230 lbs | Plantation American Heritage | Class of 2023
Fletcher is one of the more physically dominating Running Backs in the country. Watching his film reminds me of former 5 star RB and Class of 2014 national number one recruit, Leonard Fournette. Fletcher is a menacing presence coming out of the backfield with great speed and causes opposing Defensive Backs to make “business decisions” once he gets to the 2nd level. He is ranked as the top RB on our list and 5th overall prospect in Florida. He has numerous Division 1 offers from USC, Jackson State, Nebraska, Louisville, Ohio State, but his top 7 has already been narrowed down to Michigan, ’Bama, Miami, Georgia, Penn State, Auburn, and Florida.
Richard Young Richard Young 6'0" | 200 lbs | RB Lehigh | 2023 State FL | 6’1’’ 200 lbs | Lehigh High School | Class of 2023
Young has one of the most impressive highlight films that I’ve seen for RBs in the Class of 2023. He ran for over 1,700 yards and 19 touchdowns, and is wanted by just about every Division one college in the nation. Young has every thing coaches are looking for in a complete running back. He can cut on a dime, has the ability to make defenders miss, great vision, and he can shift to a second gear that looks like everyone else is running in slow motion on film.
