Apodaca was the leading receiver for a pretty solid passing offense last season. He caught 31 passes for 666 yards and 10 touchdowns. He is a slot guy who is too fast to cover with a safety in man-to-man. La Habra runs “smash” with him and he runs that corner so well that safeties can’t get there fast enough in Cover 2 or he just beats his guy in man coverage on it. They also use him on fly sweeps. He is a 4.3 GPA guy who ran an 11.0 100 meter in track. Not the biggest receiver but he’s a guy that can get open against multiple coverages. He has an offer from Whittier and is getting some attention from Ivy League schools.

Dane Benedix Dane Benedix 6'0" | 170 lbs | ATH Capistrano Valley | 2023 State CA , Capistrano Valley
You know how there is always that obnoxious guy who claims to have liked a hipster band before they got any attention? That’s how I feel about Benedix. I got a tip about him his freshman offseason going into his sophomore season and he has been putting up crazy numbers since. He had 1,099 yards and 12 touchdowns as a junior and set multiple school records. He is around 185 pounds, physical and can catch passes in traffic. He makes big plays after the catch and has breakaway speed. Benedix is way too good to have no offers at this point.
Capistrano Valley QB Trey Kukuk had a memorable night Friday for a lot of reasons, including this game-winning TD pass to Dane Benedix in the final seconds.

Final: Orange 67, Capo Valley 47.
Zachary Siskowic had 477 yards passing and 7 touchdowns for Orange. Dane Benedix 299 yards receiving for Capo. I believe both are school records. @ocvarsity @SteveFryer @latsondheimer @Orangepantherf1 @capofootball @ocvarsityguy— Michael Huntley (@mikehuntley63) September 18, 2021
JJ Conrad JJ Conrad 6'1" | 185 lbs | WR Yorba Linda | 2023 CA , Yorba Linda
Conrad is a quality high school receiver who can line up all over the field. He is really god at running fades in man coverage because he looks like he’s running a post but slightly changes direction to the outside which catches the corner off-balanced. A lot of receivers aren’t that fast off the ball but pick up speed in the middle of the route but Conrad is extremely explosive at the line of scrimmage. He has an offer from Whittier College.

Fox Haugen, Canyon
Haugen is lengthy at 6-foot-3 and uses his height and reach to win jump balls and box out receivers like a basketball player. He was a one-man show for Canyon last season with 1,002 yards on 87 receptions with 18 touchdowns. He isn’t afraid to go over the middle and he has good hands. I wouldn’t call him a speed demon but he’s a good athlete and has good instincts after the catch. He is definitely a guy who should have some low level offers by now.

Cooper Hoch, Corona del Mar
Hoch is 6-foot-3, close to 200 pounds and a typical Corona del Mar super athlete. He runs the 4 by 1 relay at Corona del Mar and the team got 43.6 last weekend at Laguna Beach. He is a precise route runner who knows how to find space in zone coverage. He had 9 touchdowns for the Sea Kings last season will likely be the primary target for quarterback David Rasor David Rasor 6'1" | 195 lbs | QB Corona Del Mar | 2023 State CA this season. His length and athleticism gives him a huge catch radius. He is too good to have no Division 1 offers yet but I am sure that will change during his senior season.
