Over 1,000 aspiring All-Americans have that opportunity with the Under Armour Next Camp Series in key regions around the country. To be the best, athletes must train and compete with the best. Players of both high school and middle school showcase their abilities via positional drills, football specific drills, and combine training. The chosen few will earn the right to play in the All-America and Futures Games in Orlando, Fla.
Here’s a look at some of the 2027 prospects that really stood out during the Under Armour Middle School Camp.
DJ Rumph DJ Rumph 6'0" | 170 lbs | DL Undecided | 2025 GA | Defensive Line | 2027 |
He has one of the fastest get offs for his age. Still surprising to see him perform significantly well with his hair flying around in his face and never did he fail to make a play, or complete a drill. DJ has great footwork, and you can tell he’s still growing and trying to get used to his legs. Once he fills out and gets full control of his body he may be the next Chase Young. The coaches loved his fast feet, long arms, and they complimented him on his transitions, and his overall talent. He definitely had the trainers hyped on that field. They say theres a bright future is ahead of him. Power 5 all the way. For his efforts he was selected to the 2023 Under Armour Futures 8th Grade All-American Game.
James Harris | Offensive Line | 2027
Harris is one unique athlete with a combination of size and speed. He showed up to the camp focused and ready. You won’t hear a peep out of him, but his actions are definitely loud. He’s not one to underestimate. Nothing is better than a quiet beast who handles his business and shows out when it’s needed. I know theres more to come for Harris. Keep a look out for him. He is definitely an impact player to have on your team. Don’t blink your eyes with this kid. Big things coming all the way. For his efforts, the Kentucky native was selected to the 2023 Under Armour Futures 8th Grade All-American Game.
Justin Perez | Offensive Line | 2027
Another Kentucky native, Perez did a solid job at the camp. All you need to know about the potential of this big guy is that he already has a size 15 shoe, in just the seventh grade. Moved well laterally and should be somebody to keep an eye on as he continue to progress. He has strong legs and quick hands. In 7th grade, these athletes don’t even have the upper body strength to follow through like they want. But, this kid is different. He will continue to break necks and stand out like he did at this camp. I don’t know what they’re feeding these athletes in Kentucky, but keep it coming. It says a lot to stand out in a Georgia camp. D1 all the way for Perez. For his efforts, the Kentucky native was selected to the 2023 Under Armour Futures 8th Grade All-American Game.
Zane Johnson | Quarterback | 2027
Zane is the only QB who received an MVP award out of this group. It was an honor to watch this kid in action. I saw him throw some bombs right into these WR’s hands. His accuracy is amazing to say the least. He has incredible cognitive skills in the little time he’s given. And, he has a pretty strong throwing arm. His anticipation is on point. Making the trip from the Blue Grass State, he definitely stood out with all the Georgia talent around him. I’m excited for what’s to come for this young QB.
Sekou Kamara | Defensive Back | 2027
Now this athlete is phenomenal. Personally, I think he has college level skills while only in 7th grade–which is why he received an invite to the 2023 Under Armour Futures 8th Grade All-American Game. I have never seen such a smooth WR. His lean when he transitions throughout his routes is so crisp and effective. His hands are no way bigger. He is a rare athlete. The way he was able to corral the ball in different ways on top of his consistency, and his speed, made him shine the way he did. Kamara has a bright future ahead of him. I can’t wait to see him on Sundays.
Josh Echols | Defensive Back | 2027
Echols is certainly one to watch LIVE. His strong built isn’t just for show. It’s absolutely effective. This kid will catch up to you and stay on his man like glue. Selected to the 2023 Under Armour Futures 8th Grade All-American Game, has is absolutely explosive with his first step and I have not seen one athlete out run him. He is definitely gap sound and stops every run. He is very physical and able to make split second changes while running at full speed. On top of all that, he’s strong, and tough. And after every rep, he walks away like it was nothing to him. This was one of my favorites to watch. I know this athlete will have some offers early and will definitely be top in the country if he stays consistent.
Preston Glasco | Defensive Back | 2027
This was another athlete that stood out. He will make plays and speed up to you easily. He may be known as the turnover king in Georgia the way he was showing out on the field–something the representatives from UA saw, as he was invited to the 2023 Under Armour Futures 8th Grade All-American Game. He has the speed and he’s definitely tough. He comes out there with complete confidence and talent. Glasco made it seem so easy no matter what he had to face on that field. He will get physical with you if he has to as well. I think he will grow to become a well known DB in Georgia and definitely make a name for himself. Don’t sleep on him. Don’t.
Rilee Drew | Defensive Back | 2027
Drewwww is a perfect name to holler every time this kid gets on the field. He has amazing ball skills and leaping ability that will get him far in his football career. His ability to change directions in a minimal time is what made him stand out. If you ever see him live you can see the confidence that makes everything seem so easy to him. He has composure to perform well under pressure and that’s every coach’s dream. Definitely look out for this athlete. He won’t have any issues trying to get recruiters attention if he keeps it up. He’s yet another athlete who earned an invite to the 2023 Under Armour Futures 8th Grade All-American Game
